George Hill Agrees To Five-Year Deal With Pacers

George Hill and the Pacers have agreed upon a five-year contract, according to a source.

Hill was acquired by Indiana on draft night last season.

^ meh, George Hill is solid, but not worth anything beyond a 2-3 year contract.....

so lemme get this straight, Pacers are spending their time locking in Hill while they let Hibby an All Star center for years to come slip through their fingers :ahwow:

and ouch, Anthony Davis sprained his ankle bad and is out for the Olympics, I personally don't think he's worthy enough to make the team anyway, only reason he's there cuz a few key big men guys are also injured.... hopefully this forces him to hit the gym and work out on his upper body size, guy's gonna get tossed around like a bitch in the league if he comes in the same size as he is right now... way he's built right now he stands no chance banging with anyone down low

Joe Johnson to Nets is pretty much done?? Holy shit, just when I thought no team could get more stupid than the Knicks after what they gave for Melo.....

MR_BIGGS 07-02-2012 02:59 PM

Joe Johnson to Brooklyn for the whole nets team.

bballguy 07-02-2012 03:06 PM

The Nets will give up the expiring contracts of Jordan Williams, Johan Petro, Jordan Farmar and Anthony Morrow, a signed-and-traded DeShawn Stevenson, and a protected 2013 first-round pick.

Worst part of this trade is that it's not even contingent on D-Will staying with the Nets....They will make this trade with or without him, and if I was him, I WOULD RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK!!

Sir_Loin 07-02-2012 03:39 PM

M.Williams for Harris is near completion. I like what Ferry is doing in ATL as the new GM, he's clearing up all the mistakes the previous management did. He's already GM of the year once the Joe Johnson trade goes through.

Hawks, Jazz Agree To Williams For Harris Swap

The Hawks have agreed to send Marvin Williams to the Jazz for Devin Harris.

Williams is scheduled to make $8.38 million for 12-13 and $7.6 million for 13-14, while Harris is in the final season of his contract at $8.5 million.

This trade could be a domino for another trade, Harris replacing Teague, been reading a trade package ATL is offering ORL.

Horford + Teague + ZAZA and picks for D.Howard

Atlanta with a core of Harris, Josh Smith and Howard are a top 4 team in the East.

bballguy 07-02-2012 03:43 PM

Wow, Danny Ferry is looking like an absolute genius right now.

After destroying the Nets by sending them Joe Johnson for a bunch of expiring contracts, he shipped off Marvin Williams to Utah in exchange for Devin Harris, in which they got a solid point guard (when healthy) in exchange for the underachieving Marvin Williams, while also shedding more salary.

The Hawks are now in position to make a play for Dwight Howard. They might also be able to go after Chris Paul, and the fact Howard is from Atlanta and good buddies with Josh Smith could be a key factor in where he signs. Danny Ferry just got to the ATL recently, but he's shaken things up quickly. If nothing else, Hawks fans have to be pleased that they have so much money to spend, and landing Howard could be the start of a new era in Atlanta.

Ehhh, I wouldn't call that a top 4 team....This is a guard's league now...No big man will ever be the go-to guy in this league ever again, and Josh Smith is nothing more than a low-end 2nd option on contending team....Harris has been whatever, and doesn't even deserve to start over Jeff Teague at this point....Not a top 4 team....They need to hold onto Jeff Teague and I'm sure Ferry will do that.

I meant standings in the east not top 4 teams in the entire NBA.

1. Miami
2. Indy
3. Boston
4. ATL with Howard and Smith / Philly ?

Rose who knows when he'll be back doctors are saying early January/Feb?

Regardless the Hawks have carved up enough cap room for the 2013 off season to sign both Howard and CP3 should they let Josh Smith walk who's in his last year of his contract.

G-spec 07-02-2012 05:34 PM

Rose's recovery is well ahead of schedule, they're crediting his age, as younger guys heal from injuries quite a bit faste than older ones.

In any case, I wouldn't bring Rose back until the playoffs, well actually activate him with a month before the playoffs start, get him back in the groove so he's 100% for the playoffs....
this is their future they're playing with, for Rose's sake I hope they learn from their mistakes, I've already made it clear on many occasions how I feel about the Bulls medical team and some of Thibbs coaching decisions.

oh and uhhh... Amare is finally manning up and realizing his days of jumping out the gym are gone, he's working out with Hakeem this summer, as has become the custom of guys heading into the second halves of their careers

some Carolina blue added to the new Cats uniforms, ugly stripes are gone

Miami, Indiana, Boston, and New York, on paper, should be the top 4 teams in the East next season.

Bucks should be solid next season with Jennings, Ellis, Ersan, Gooden, Dalembert, etc...

76ers will be alright again.

Chicago will be fine without Rose for the regular season.

and if the Hawks were to get Dwight and keep Smith, they'd be at about the same place as Chicago would be in my opinion....the combination of Howard and Josh Smith would be better than Noah and Boozer for sure, but the bulls also have Deng who had a very solid season last year.

1. Miami
2. Indy
3. Boston
4. NYK

5-8 in no order: ATL, Mil, Philly, Chicago

Sir_Loin 07-02-2012 06:31 PM

Ersan is an UFA Bucks could lose him to another team.

http://www.warriorsworld.net/wp-cont...2/06/Bogut.jpg

Knicks might lose Lin and Novak, free agency and trades are gonna change a lot of teams rosters this off-season we should wait till the dust settles before predicting the standings in the conferences.

G-spec 07-02-2012 06:34 PM

^ fck man, just hope Bogut's bad luck with injuries is over, he's been so unlucky last few seasons, not even injury prone or nothing like that, just straight up freak fckin injuries

I still can't watch a replay of his elbow injury on youtube when he went up for that dunk. On paper the Warriors should be better this up coming season.

PG Curry
SG Wright or Klay Thompson
SF Barnes or Wright
PF Lee
C Bogut

Bench Etan Nosnibor
Bierdrins
R. Jefferson

They actually have enough cap to aim for CP3, Josh Smith and Howard in next year FA. How about that? Exactly like how Riley did with Wade, Bron and Bosh. If Danny Ferry pull this off, would be pretty amazing.

The Warriors has always been good "on paper". They need to move to SF. Then they can attract some big names FAs. I lived near Oakland for a while. Oakland fans are great but nothing is like SF.

I still dont understand the RJ trade. And the wasted amnesty on Charlie Bell. Charlie freaking Bell!

bballguy 07-03-2012 04:21 AM

Wow....

ESPN's Chris Broussard reported early today that the Nets and Magic were in discussions to possibly pull off a blockbuster deal that would send Dwight Howard to Brooklyn.

The Magic would send Howard to the Nets in exchange for a package that would include Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, and first-round picks in 2013, 2015 and 2017. This would potentially give the Nets a "Big 3" of Howard, Deron Williams (if he signs) and Joe Johnson, although it looks like their drafts would suffer greatly over the next several years. And despite trading five players for Johnson on Monday, they could still field a starting five of Williams, Gerald Green, Johnson, Gerald Wallace and Howard, which looks pretty strong on paper. Details will surely emerge throughout the day, but it does look like the Nets are still very much alive in the Howard sweepstakes. Chris Mannix of SI is also reporting that the Nets could end up taking back Hedo Turkoglu in the deal, who would potentially start at small forward.

Edit: For Nets-Magic to progress on a Dwight Howard deal, a 3rd team needed to take Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade, league source tells Y!

411ken 07-03-2012 07:18 AM

I wouldn't mind that trade if I were the magic. I wonder what other offers they could get for him.
If it goes thru.

Dwill
Joe Johnsonp
G Wallace
??
D Howard

not bad at all. I would try and sign Jason kidd too if he's a goner in mavs. Then try and go for ilyasova , landry , beasley.

411ken 07-03-2012 07:19 AM

When does the luxury tax start? I wonder how the Big spenders would handle it.

wasabisashimi 07-03-2012 09:27 AM

If nets get D-Will and Man child. What does that leave for Dallas going forward? Nash and J.Kidd? a Pair of 40yr olds?

i-VTEC 07-03-2012 09:56 AM

Raptors Agree To Three-Year Offer Sheet With Landry Fields

Landry Fields has agreed to a three-year offer sheet with the Raptors worth approximately $20 million.

Fields is a restricted free agent after spending his first two seasons with the Knicks.

The third season of the deal is likely to have a significant spike in Year 3.

Not really racist! 07-03-2012 10:06 AM

^ meh.... :/

bballguy 07-03-2012 10:39 AM

The Celtics are in "final discussions" about a multi-year contract for Jason Terry, according to Yahoo! Sports.
The Celts are thought to be giving Terry a three-year contract worth $4-5 million annually, but Terry may give the Mavericks the chance to match the offer. If he signs with Boston it will be interesting to see how it affects their pursuit of Ray Allen -- the Celts are reportedly still "determined" to re-sign Allen, but with Avery Bradley and Terry around the SG minutes would be tight.

411ken 07-03-2012 11:24 AM

I like that move by colangelo and the raptors. Kinda screwed up the knicks tho as I've read their plan was sign and trade for nash with fields goin to the suns.
We shall see what happens

411ken 07-03-2012 11:29 AM

Any idea how much ray Allen is asking? Cuz if I were the celts I'd rather get terry. But if they cud hav both..then that wud be nice.
