Poppa has won 4 NBA championship and is the most consistent NBA team in the last decade for a championship, he should do whatever the hell he wants. Next time he should just send them home with a finger or back injury if he decides to rest them.
Can David Stern fine players who underperform/whines too much because they are not happy with their team?
*cough cough*, I am looking at you Dwight (last year), Eric Gordon, Odumb and maybe Bynum
This fine is stupid, who is running the team?
If they really wanted a Match up/ showtime TV hours, they should've plan their road schedule so that is the team isnt 4 game in 5 nights going up against the defending champs.
Stern is dumb ,period
these guys are aging veterans and if the team thinks they need rest isn't that their decision? he wouldn't know, i don't think he's touched a basketball in his life
Ridiculous fine. What right does Stern have to tell any coach in the league (let alone Pop) how to manage his team?
I can see why people would be upset (especially those who bought tickets to the game to watch the Spurs' A-team, not the B-team) watching the game; but at the same time, you can make the argument that this actually makes for a better product later in the season in June when the games actually matter (as opposed to a game now in November) when the top players are rested.
IMO its completely unrealistic for Stern to think that star players who play 35-40 min/game almost every other day for 8 straight months will be able to play at the highest level night in and night out.
This clown can't retire soon enough..even if Adam Silver is no better.
^ that's exactly the problem, I mean where does it end, now he's opened up a can of worms.....
He has no authority to tell an owner and the coach how to run their team, it's out of his jurisdiction.... worst case scenario what he could do is introduce a new rule for next season, but even that would be tough since the players union would get in the way...
I still don't think he's even allowed to do this, but I haven't looked into the rules nor read what the experts are saying on the blogs, will dig into that tomorrow.
I just got home and checkin the box scores, lol WTF !! ok Lakers win, but Jamison beastly at 33 points, WHA !! and Dwight Howard finally woke up with 28, and Jodie Meeks with 21..... Pau and Kobe at a very quiet 5-15 with 14 points......
So who thinks Kobe will maybe get the hint, that when he doesnt jack up 30 shots a game, other guys get goin and they have a better chance of winning..... nobody thinks that, because we all know Kobe gon' Kobe

awesome meme
i thought he'd figure it out from the olympics where he didn't go in to kobe mode and just went with the flow and scored when the opportunities arrived with the flow of the game. glad to see jamison go off.
^ nah brah, I love Kobe, I've always said he's one of the last real men in a league full of boys. It's just amusing how he is, to me it's pretty gangster I mean it's just like an outlaw in an old western going out in his own terms not givin a fuck, you gotta love it.....
Won't lie... my favorite Kobe of all time though, young Afro Kobe.... Way back when he was rockin the Adidas Crazy 8's, slam dunk champ Kobe, back when his legs were fresh and his handles were sick, crossovers galore... now he tries to cross over he loses the dribble half the time
I miss Afro Kobe, I want him to grow his Afro back in his last NBA season and just ball the fck out one last time put on a show for all of us, that shit would be ultimate

+1 on nah brah...i started liking kobe when he stuck it out all those years post-shaq and was on a shitty laker team rebuilding and finally got a shaq-free ring, instead of taking his talents elsewhere.

Yeah, I mean the Lakers franchise is such a hard organization to stick it out with....I mean they are so often near the bottom of the standings, and nobody wants to play there, and their management does such a horrible job of bringing in other superstars....I mean Kobe did request a trade at one point, but who can blame him, right? that's a pretty damn tough organization to play for...so yeah, mad props to him for doing that instead of taking his talents elsewhere, unlike 'you-know-who' over there who had it so great in Cleveland. I mean, if I was in the NBA, I would die to play for the Cavs....such an accomplished and highly-respected organization.

look i know you're a miami fan and that's cool...but seriously sometimes i think you need to chill out...the "taking to talents to ____" is a famous line now. i said it about ray allen too and i was happy to see him go to what i think is a better situation to miami...and i said it about nash when he went to LA. it wasn't a shot at lebron or the miami heat.
and ya you're right, "shitty" was the wrong word. i don't take a lot of my posts seriously in here cuz i always felt it's just a bunch of bball fans talking out loud...not being that serious. you're sarcastic post is spot on i have no argument against it, though my comment was intended strictly towards kobe and had no reference towards any other player or any other team. i was not aware he asked for a trade, thanks for the info.
-proud of the Spurs for playing aggressive against the Grizz for the comeback win. -down by 14 in the 4th quarter? No problem for the Spurs. They know they got Pop's back. -good way to stick it to Stern.
-love this one handed slam over Gasol. He looks rejuvenated after a few days of rest.
