Sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein that Jose Calderon will be sent to the Pistons as part of a three-team trade that will land Rudy Gay in Toronto and Tayshaun Prince in Memphis.
Stein and the Memphis Commercial-Appeal report the Grizzlies will acquire Prince and swingman Austin Daye, while TNT's David Aldridge says it'll be a second-round pick and Prince heading to Memphis. As we said earlier, Calderon's value remains stagnant since he'll enter into another timeshare with current PG Brandon Knight, whose own value takes a big hit. Prince is an intriguing option in Memphis since he'll likely receive 30-plus minutes on a much better team. Daye, meanwhile, will help the Grizzlies fill out what was a very short-handed bench.

This trade won't work out unless they figure out how to make it all work on offense without a PG.... Lowry isn't a PG, he's a SG in a PG's body....

Granted Gay and DeRozan can create for themselves so they'll both be dropping over 20 a game..... but nobody else on that roster can create for themselves consistently... and it's tough to win consistently if you depend on individual efforts, this isn't the late 90's and early to mid 2000's, volume individual scoring doesn't work as well as it used too. Teams have been stacking defenders on the ball side for a good 7 years or so now.

omg so fucking stoked... i've been hoping raps would land rudy gay since last year offseason when the rumours started. but i am also fucking sad that calderon had to leave... that guy gave the raptors his all and i love him to death. there was always rumours of calderon being on the trading block these past few seasons, but he took it like a true pro and gave it his all night in and night out. i never thought he would actually be leaving :( also sad that ed davis had to get dealt, he was having a breakout season.

now wtf is gonna happen with this log jam at SG/SF. ddr, ross, anderson, fields, gay??? only logical thing to do is move fields, but hes averaging 5 points and noone wants his fucking contract... anderson has enough value to get moved, but he packs a huge punch off the bench. sigh, im happy that raptors finally landed a star player, but i have doubts that this will work out; for this season atleast.
