Without Kobe, I think they would match up well with SA and their style of play. | While OKC is young and athletic, people are underestimating Spurs a bit this season....This is not the same 'old' Spurs team that we've seen in the past few years....They've got a bunch of solid young guys that can more than just 'pitch in' and can actually go off for 15-20 points whenever given the opportunity...Patty Mills, Gary Neal, Tiago Splitter
They've got some pretty elite perimeter defenders in both Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard...Both of them will do a great job of getting into the passing lanes with their very long arms.
OKC relies on Sefalosha to be the elite defender on the perimeter, but the problem with that is that he sucks on offense; he can't even hit open 3's in the corner....I will say that he's single-handedly the reason they lost last season to Miami...If OKC could have replaced Sefalosha with a Shane Battier clone, OKC would've been able to put up a much better fight
Tony Parker is playing like he's still in his prime and has been better than Wesbrook this season...Manu can still do whatever he wants....Duncan will still pitch in and get his....
Everyone in San Antonio has a great head on their shoulders...as always Pop always has the most disciplined team in the league, and he's easily the best coach in the league. Scott Brooks isn't exactly the best coach, and OKC isn't exactly the most disciplined team in the league at all.
LA stands a chance against OKC, especially because probably over 50% of the game Brooks is going to play Perkins and Sefalosha who are basically useless on offense....
Against Spurs, Lakers will lose based on coaching alone. Quote:

lol I honestly think Miami would roll through the East regardless of whether or not LeBron is playing... | I actually would agree. Especially with Bryant out. Thunder used to just stick Sefolosha on Bryant and many of LA possession would go to waste as he wants to go one-on-one with any good defender.
However, who am I kidding. I think Lakers is fucked either way. Would be nice to not be swept.....

Lakers would be considered lucky if they could win one or two games in the first round... but hey, Dwight might go beast mode and Gasol is playing amazing
First round upset? one can dream

But, with a W against Houston, not only would they make playoffs, but they'd even finish in 7th and play San Antonio in the 1st round....that said, if I were a Lakers fan, I'd rather they play OKC, but the majority of people are disagreeing with me...Regardless, they'll play San Antonio or they'll play nobody. | If the Lakers and Jazz both lose tomorrow the Lakers would play OKC.

Utah game is 2.5 hours before the LA game, Lakers will know if they made playoffs already without stepping on the court or jsut as tip off happens
I'm hoping that Dwight will step up and treat it like it's his team until Kobe is back

^ I think he meant if they beat Houston tonight they will win the season series...and them finishing up with the same record then the lakers will leap to 7th and Houston to 8th. Utah winning will not make a difference if lakers win tonight. But if Utah loses today then the Houston game will be nothing but positioning.

just read that nash isn't playing tonight. With kobe and nash out, it seems like the chemistry is starting to click with the lakers though. I have a feeling Lin is gonna go off tonight, don't know why..

Should be an exciting game, unless Lakers in a hole early then it's gg... I don't think Houston wants to drift to 8th seed.
