Been a long time Lakers fan, but AI3 was one of those players who had such a global impact and influence for kids everywhere. From the sick crossovers and handles, to the drives to the basket, this dude played with as much heart as anyone could ask for.

It is my belief that we will sooner see another LeBron James than we will see another Allen Iverson. The guy was just an insane hiccup in the genetic code.

Even if by some miracle somebody matches his ungodly quickness, speed, and agility, nobody's matching his endurance. He was like a sprinter running a marathon out there. Where the Reggie Millers and Rip Hamiltons ran all over the court and came off screens to shoot jumpers, Iverson came off them to drive even harder to the basket And we haven't even mentioned his impeccable balance!
And of course, an obligatory plugin for his infamous rant.
I still remember getting pissed at NBC for not showing 76ers games in the mid 90's after Iverson was drafted. Didn't know that back then that the concept of nationally televising only the winning teams on sunday mornings.
For the older heads, you guys remember this commercial where he "invented" a new crossover:
I still remember mimicking that move and my buddies are like "dude just stop, stop carrying the damn ball... ". It was the best times... I wanted to get the recent retros of the Answer 1's but I heard Reebok cheaped out on the materials.
On Antonio Daniels too.. LOL! I remember when Phoenix wanted that draft pick (we used for Daniels in 97) for Nash. Stu said no. Of course, hindsight is 20/20.
Didn't 'Melo drop 62 on the same Bobcats not too long ago?... lol sorry but it's not the "same" type of accomplishment when you are up against those D-Leaguers.
On another note ... loved this moment of AI too:
He would have got T'd up in this era's NBA reffing lol
yo G-Spec, just booked my flight for LA for the end of April...can't wait to watch CP3 and the Clips take on GSW/Hou/Por in the first round of playoffs!! You jelly bruh!?!?
nah for real though, have fun dude... and take lots of pics, last year when my bro took our little bros to Staples watch the Heat game, he barely took any pictures, I wanna see some see what the arena is really like
