Damn ... Blake Griffin signed with the Nets ??!! I know Griffin isn't what he used to be but still. Prob going there for minimum since he got bought out.
Didn't really expect anything out of this year All-Star festivities due to Covid. Lebron never wanted to participate and I could tell he didn't want to play based on the first couple of minutes into the game.
Raptors make a trade on deadline day. Powell plays for the Trailblazers now.
Rip City gets Powell in exchange for Rodney Hood and Gary Trent Jr.
This is a good deal for the Raps. -low risk trade with Hood's contract being non-guaranteed for next season. He can be easily waived.
Gary Trent Jr, son of Trent Sr. Trent Sr. played 13 games for T.O. during the 1997-1998 season.
Trent Jr. is only 22 y ears old. -shows flashes of potential to be a Normal Powell type of player. His stats this season: 15 ppg, shooting 39.7 percent from 3 point range on just over 7 attempts per game.
Trent Jr. is at qualifying offer of $2.1 million compared to 20 million plus that Powell will demand next season is good business. This young guy has plenty of room to grow his game too.
Good trade, Raptors!
Where is Lowry getting traded? Miami or to his hometown of Philly?
Trade rumours are heating up for the Raptors for the past week.
Lowry staying. Bad move IMO... I mean it's not like they are pulling a Derozan dirty, but still, now Raptors will be stuck in mediocrity for the next however many years.
WTF Orlando cleaning house lol, all starters either injured or traded.
Last years finalists, Miami looking scary, adding Oladipo and hearing Lamarcus heading there too.
CJ & Melo had some bad plays down the stretch. And Covington, what the fuck was he thinking. He tried 2x throw-down dunks with one arm down late in the game. Some terrible plays and couldn't stop Joker (too big). I wanted Blazers to win game 5.
Glad Knicks got knocked out. When I watched the behavior of their fans, zero respect for the game. As much as I appreciate the hard work they have put in this season, glad Trae Young shut them up.
Fans going pandemic crazy, I can't remember the last time there was so many fan-related incidents in such quick succession. The popcorn, the water bottle, the spitting and the dude running on the court to slap the back board. Like wtf are these people thinking?!
Sometimes there just needs to be a natural order of correction, perhaps another Malice at the Palace? These overweight bums wouldn't be so brave if 6'6" 250lb of muscle was allowed to retaliate.
As 1 NBA player said recently, you wouldn't do this to me in the street why in the arena?
Looks like Lakers are done. First time for everything Lebron. Knocked out in the first round.
Down 27 and AD is out for rest of the game with a sore groin... in an elimination game...
^ It's fine ... Lakers were so so anyways this year. Without AD, that's going to be a legit excuse. Man ... LBJ has played a LOT of bball over the past number of years, always going to the final what 7 out of 8 years ... that takes a toll. He deserves an early summer.
Lebron had zero sportsmanship or support for his team-mates. Walks out of game 5 with few mins left (ditching team) and then no hand shake last night after getting beat. Sore loser. What kind of example are you setting as a leader? Win or lose, have to take it like a man and move on and be better.
As a Lebron hater, I can't even pin this one on him. It's been an injury plagued season for the Lakers. Remember they just won their championship in October and had to start the season 2 months later. Definitely not enough time to recuperate.
Looking forward to next year. Nets vs Lakers Final please.
