may be just me but like i said in the other unecessarily made topic
history shows that putting 3 superstars together doesn't really mean they'll make it to the finals ~ i like wade and im happy for him but i really would have liked to see LBJ stay with Cavs (already a playoff contender) or join the Bulls (will become a strong playoff contender)
extra little note ~ Mike Miller signed with Heat right when he heard LBJ is joing Heat
so there's your starting line-up
Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;
As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.
This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.
Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.
The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.
There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.
You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.
You have given so much and deserve so much more.
In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:
"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"
You can take it to the bank.
If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.
Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.
Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.
This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.
But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.
The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.
Just watch.
Sleep well, Cleveland.
Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....
I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:
DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....
I don't understand how anyone can like the Heat now.
Just the fact that Lebron was gonna do a 1 hr special to announce his pick was a kick in the nuts to Cavs fans everywhere. It was the most unprofessional thing I've ever watched in my life. I was shaking my head when they were showing Lebron in different jerseys. Also, Cleveland fans have suffered enough. I can't believe he chose to build it up like that and choose a different team. What a dick.
Also, Kevin Durant announced his new deal over Twitter. He didn't have a 1 hr special. Matter of fact, no one's ever had a 1 hr special to announce his deal.
Bosh... I don't even know where to start. As soon as he became a free agent, he was on Twitter, saying how he was so excited to choose a new team. He even asked his followers or whatever to choose a team for him. Toronto fans should boo his ass just like they do to Wince.
I still like DWade though.
Anyway, they're gonna be good but they're still gonna be missing some pieces. If they get Mike Miller, I guess that fills their 3 pt shooter slot. They still need a rebounder, a solid interior defender (Come on, Bosh is gonna get killed my Bynum and Gasol), a point guard, and some veteran guys that know their roles. They won't until they fill up the holes with solid role players.
Superstars can't win a championship by themselves.
Kobe and Shaq needed Horry, Fox, Fisher
Boston's big 3 needed Posey, PJ Brown
Even Jordan needed BJ Armstrong, Grant, Paxon, Kerr, Kukoc...
Anyway, I still can't belive Lebron chose to ride shotgun to DWade instead of leading his own team.
^ exactly.. that's all everyone is debating about.... as they say...everyone NEVER gave Kobe his credit until the last 2 championship because he was always labelled as the "2nd guy" to shaq...Now that he's won the last 2 championship as the "Main guy" it means more.
What will LBJ say...I'm the best, it took 2 superstars Bosh/Wade to win one.... (I hope I don't hear "Kobe has Gasol" as Gasol isn't as big a name as Wade/Bosh). He could have stayed in Cleveland then signed Boozer or Lee, if they wanted to be like the Lakers.
I'm sure winning the championship is great but yea, I'd have to agree wit Barkley's comments (I rarely agree to his comments)
shaq won 4 championships and none of them were with orlando but for me, that doesn't take anything away from his legacy. again, i think just lebron drew a lot of negative criticism because of how he made his decision with his prima donna antics.
Shaq is currently a free agent, and would make a great backup to Bosh.
I don't think Bosh wants to play centre...most likely playing the PF position. If they can't find a cheap vet to fill in the centre position, most likely Joel Anthony will start for them.

Lebron is going what Shaq did. Shaq couldn't get it done himeself in Orlando (getting swept by Houston in the finals) so he went to the Lakers and won himself 3 rings. Did it tarnish his legacy? Perhaps only for the first year he was in LA. He wanted to win, and thought LA would help him do that.

^ agreed. shaq moved to LA and won 3, them moved to miami and won 1. no one is ever going to take those 4 rings and MVP award away from him. no one is going to question his dominance in the 90's and early 2000's.
lebron just made the move. he hasn't even played 1 game with the new team yet. lets sit back and watch how many (if any) championships the trio can win before we assess anyone's legacy.
Anyways as far as the Big 3 goes, yes Miami is gonna have a tough time finding good supporting players to fill the roster. Yes, Lebron probably should have opted to go to either Chicago, New York, or even stayed in Cleveland.
But I was and always will be a D-Wade fan. I go where this guy goes because I have nothing but respect for him. From all the active NBA players right now, he's definitely my favorite.
Miami will either take it all the way and win the championship if they fill up the team with good supporting players and find chemistry, or fail hard and disappoint without having a strong supporting cast.
They need to find a strong Center, and build up a reliable bench... PRONTO!
