Shaq signs with the Celtics. Your thoughts on the big Shamrock playing in Boston.

It's official! Boston signs veteran center Shaquille O'Neal to a 2 year deal, worth $ 3 million US. The Big Shamrock, as people call him on ESPN's fan comments, joins a huge front court with Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'Neal.

The Heat and Celtics opening game this season just got even more interesting. :D

Your thoughts about the C's signing of Shaq? Can Boston make it back to the NBA finals? Shaq vs. Kobe in the Finals 2011?

wuuhoo 08-04-2010 03:12 PM

^these elite teams just get stronger and stronger

should be a fun season though

kobe vs shaq 2011 final or kobe vs lebron 2011 final?

G-spec 08-04-2010 04:03 PM

I haven't looked forward to an NBA season like this since way back when Iverson, Marbury and the rest of that gang got drafted back in 96... I actually went to watch that draft at GM place on the big screen, lol still got the draft pamphlet too

2003 got me pretty excited since experts say it's supposed to be the best draft class of all time, but nah IMO the best draft class eva was 1996 !

Iverson, Abdur-Rahim, Marbury, Kobe, Steve Nash, Ray Allen, and gamblin ass Antoine Walker was sick with the shake shimmy

Chalk another fan looking forward to this upcoming season...

I think a lot of people will say the Lakers are the favourites because it seems it will be easier to come out of the west than the east and they have added some defensive depth....although my hearts not with the Lakers...I'm putting money on them.

People will say the Celtics are another year older so they may not have what it takes....
but signing Shaq will help a bit...they are beast in the front court.

so many great storylines for next season...I am looking forward to Bulls games, as they have so many young athletic guys...should set a good pace most nights.

East is beast with Celts, Bulls, Heat.

Can't wait.

NBA has become a two tier league...with haves and have nots...small markets can't compete.

liu13 08-04-2010 06:49 PM

i say the spurs can still compete with the Lakers

the Nuggets might surprise a few people

shawn79 08-04-2010 06:50 PM

I've been waiting for the Nuggests to surprise a few people the past 2 years.

I thought they had what it took this year....it was unfortunate that George Karl was diagnosed with throat cancer...

Are you for real? The Spurs???? lol..

411ken 08-04-2010 08:32 PM

As for Shaq signing.... I HATE the Celtics as you probably can tell by my posts but the signing makes a LOT of sense for them... They aren't a "Run and Gun" team so Shaq fits in well IMO... and I think the Celtics can beat the Heat. I still can't believe they got rid of Tony Allen though. ..lol.. oh well

Go LAKERS!!!! :) 3 PEAT baby!!

wuuhoo 08-05-2010 08:36 PM

Middle of last season, I always thought if Denver and LA met in the west finals. Denver would somehow came up on top. Unfortunely, George Karl :(

I think the 4 best teams in the west are:

1. Lakers
2. and 3. I 'd say Dallas or OKC ( I really like this team behind LA!)
4. Rockets. With Yao back, this team looks dangerous on paper !

Denver will have to surpise me this year! Same goes for phx

I thought the same thing...I totally thought the Nuggs could take out the Lakers...then the coach thing happened...at least he fought cancer off..

Smush Parker(notes) hasn't been in the NBA since 2007-08 when he played for the Los Angeles Clippers. Since then, he's been playing with the Guangdong Southern Tigers Hongyuan of the Chinese Basketball Association. He helped bring home two championships for the Tigers over the last two seasons.

But now he wants to be back into the NBA, according to the New York Post.

"It's about playing at the top level of basketball that there is," the 29-year-old told the paper. "I feel like I can play at that level and I've proven myself. It's just about trying to get back."

In his five seasons in the NBA, the point guard averaged nine points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists while playing for six different teams.

please tell me this is a fuking joke.

Tmac signed for 1yr. 1.3m... IMO, that's a STEAL for the pistons...

Not sure what boguns got but yeah thats def a steal for tmac, if he returns to his old self, he could be deadly in detroit

tacobell 08-11-2010 07:36 AM

the basketball career of Tracy Mcgrady is really sad, especially now with him moving on and signing with Detriot. When he was in NY, at least he was playing in the best stadium and big market, but now Detriot? a bottom feeder easter team, that is really sad.

T Mac arguably one of the most talented players back in the early 2000's, 2x scoring leader, 60 points in one game, 2x all NBA, but he'll always be remembered as a dude that never got out of the first round of the playoffs.

I use to love watching Tmac and Vince, but their ego's got in each others way, too bad they decided to split. I bet both of their careers and achievements would of so much different if they learned to play together, what a pity.
