htc tytn II (aka Kaiser) HELP!

ok guys, so i just bought the kaiser today. the phone is awesome but i have one problem. i currently have a rogers data plan and i've been trying to get data onto the kaiser. i've searched google, howard forums, RS.... no luck. hopefully some of you kaiser owners can give me a helping hand and help me try to get data on this phone

Cheers

go to the connection's settings and just input roger's information? or it'll do it automatically. Atleast the one I used did.

triplexcel 02-18-2009 10:53 PM

yeah i don't think my phone does that.

hongy 02-18-2009 10:57 PM

ah, either way. Try going to start>settings>connections> and find data setup? something along those lines. Lol wish I could be of more help man, but I used my tytn2 for like 2 weeks tops.

okay so I managed to get the internet on but its only using edge.. I want 3g!!!

Spoon_SIR 02-19-2009 01:41 PM

so 3g doesnt work on this phone?

triplexcel 02-19-2009 02:24 PM

the phone has 3g support but for some reason its not using it.

start > settings > phone > band
network type : select auto, looks like yours is in GSM
GSM/UMTS band:
select auto or GSM (190+850)+UMTS(1900+850)

I just left both of them to auto on my phone, and 3G works fine.

Easier way would be on the main screen click connections and then just click enable 3g

there's a free software unlock for tilt/TYTN II in XDA forum. You can also upgrade the rom with many of the cooked rom over there.
I'm waiting for a good version of WinMo 6.5 before flashing that to my tilt.

not sure when the last time you checked, but all 6.5 development @ XDA has stopped because M$ was getting pissed and shut all 6.5 development down.

tcneo 02-20-2009 11:27 PM

weird, I still see some new roms dated Feb 17th using 6.5

Eclypz 02-21-2009 01:52 AM

The threads are still there, but continued development was asked to stop.

See the thread for this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475041

Then see these posts from the ROM chef:

Another 6.5 ROM development that was asked to remove download links:

(yellow box at the bottom of the first post)

ah.. ic..
too bad.. maybe they'll lax it a bit when 6.5 finally come out in the open. Because as of right now it's still in the development stage.
