| Auto Mechanics and Autobody Techs...How you apply for your job?
Im a certified autobody prepper...was wondering how you guys attained your jobs?
Im guessing our industry is different...you have to go shop to shop and inquire within?
I've checked Craigslist and JobBank.gc.ca and theres not much.

Friends, Classmates. Check around shops and see if they're hiring, etc etc. Connections is the name of the game.

You mean your certified as in full journyman? or still an apprentice.
Since your a prepper, shouldn't be hard to find a shop that will take you in starting out as a detailer/prepper.

i'm a mechanic apprentice, and just asked my work for a job because i already worked for the company. i got an insider that told me they were hiring, and i got hired.
edit: plus i did my work experience during school there, so they knew what i was capable of.

I handed out 3 resumes to start a mechanics apprenticeship.
got 2 calls in 2 days and picked the one I felt better about.
Going in person is better than calling, always leave a resume and be positive!

Do you ask to speak with the Manager who might be busy around the shop or ask the reception and leave your resume with her?
Thanks...my last job I was able to attain it through my school co-op..this is different for me.

Don't trust the receptionist to do anything, most of them are just there for looks =)
Ask for the manager, hand it directly to him, call back in a couple days and ask if he read your resume/if they have any spots available.

Always ask for the manager,
i've heard stories that people in competitive fields who get resumes who aren't the managers, just throw them away.
plus receptionists aren't in your best interest, they're not always going to give the manager your resume
good luck!

always ask for the manager.
looking back at the job I go hired for, giving the resume to the bitch up front wouldn't have helped me out much.
she only bakes for us like 2 times a week, how can you expect someone like that to hand over a resume and make a good impression for you?
