It was Jason's from Dales Alignment. I bought it off him in September 2008 and put in about 5000 clicks and now am selling.

Thanks for the bump guys.

Hard to find a 12 second car with no reliability issues and only the best parts used for a decent price.

there is a lot more power loss from the crank to the wheels on an AWD car.

well if u took into account a 35% drivetrain loss (awd is 25-35% from what i've read) that puts it at 432. So he's really not that far off.

AWD suffers pretty big drivetrain losses. 25-35% on average.

There are numerous ways to manipulate the dyno charts to put out desireable numbers. Call Rocket Rally and let them know about my car. I guarantee Pat Richard will agree with my numbers.

I pulled 212whp on a stock STi on the heartbreaker (Dyno Dynamics). Stock STi's pull 210-220whp.

I pulled 320whp on the same dyno under similar conditions. Do the math with a 30% drivetrain loss and you have 450hp.

From Rocket Rally Website
20) My car makes 300 hp but your dyno says it makes 215. What is up?

Our dyno is the most accurate measurement of torque at the wheels. More accurate than most. No "interpolation" or "estimation" or "inertia factors" are applied like they are on other competitors' lesser machines. What this means is that this is the actual torque being applied at the tire. Typically, a 300hp all wheel drive car will measure in around 210-215 on our dyno. This is normal.

I went to a Mustang dyno and they said theirs reads low, but you say yours reads low. Is this just some trick used by tuners?

The Dyno Dynamics is known throughout the industry as being the "heartbreaker" dyno - because it breaks the heart of every man that thinks he has 500 hp when he really has 350. The Dyno Dynamics reads lower than the Mustang. It reads WAY lower than a Dynojet. It reads WAY lower than a Dynapack (which actually reads too high on tip-in). The closest in numbers (at low HP) is the mustang, but using the above example, the same 300hp car was dyno'd back to back on a Dyno Dynamics 450 LowBoy (what we have) and a Mustang AWD500E (what some other guys have), and that 300hp rated car consistently read 223 on the Dyno Dynam ics and 249 on the Mustang. One hour apart, exact same car, same town, same altitude, etc.

I have no problem with people bringing this up on any other forum except when I'm trying to sell my car. If you're curious about the dyno #'s, feel free to bring it up nicely or PM me. I'd be more than happy to explain it to you as above.

www.nasioc.com is a good place to start for Subaru specific issues if you'd like to learn more.

And I'd love to have a few runs at Mission Friday Night SL against your Dad's Skyline. Seems like a fast car

Moving away. That and I live and work Downtown so I don't even drive the car.

If I can't sell it for the price I'm asking for, I am prepared to put it in storage for the four years. I'm in absolutely no rush to sell nor do I "need" the money; however, I'd prefer to have the money in my pocket than have a car like this sitting around.

Please keep this thread clean boys and girls.
If you are really concerned with the HP ratings, you can PM the seller or write a book about it and find a publisher that cares.

It's usually around the 25% percent mark.. max is 30%
He's using over 40% crank loss man..
if that was the case then I'd have 588hp. But I use 25% as drivetrain loss.

Anyways I apologize for the drivetrain loss talk. bump for your car.

I don't know how to spell it out any clearer for you.

Stock STi's pull 210hp on the Dyno Dynamics when crank hp is rated at 300hp.

1 - (DD numbers / crank) = Drivetrain loss

1 - (210 / 300) = 0.3 = 30%

How did I use a 40% crank loss? And unlike you, I'm not pulling a percentage such as 25% out of my ass, its dyno proven. Stock car dynoed. Modified car dynoed. Compared two dyno plots when used on the same dyno under similar conditions.

Please read above comment regarding Rocket Rally FAQ.

I used exxon's calculations with mine. 320x1.35=432hp
the correct formula should be 320whp/(1-drivetrain loss)

How am I pulling it out of my ass? the average awd vehicle is 25% is it not?

But whatever the calculation is.. it's not 450 to the crank.
