Tap water in Las Vegas anybody know if you can drink tap water in Vegas? |
I'm pretty sure those fancy hotels wouldn't scrimp on a water filtration system but... I could be wrong lol. Don't they hand out Booze like water? Berz out. |
I'm sure you can but I would not recommend it. Just head down to Walmart and buy a case of water to be safe. |
I wouldn't touch the water at all lol..5 star or not. When i'm down there, I usually just buy water from Walgreens on the strip then just fill up an empty bottle to carry around =). cheaper too hah |
Water's fine at the hotel but it'll taste weird and gross. So like what others have said, just head to Walgreens and get a Giant Jug for a couple bucks. Unless you want to pay 5 bucks for a bottle of water at the hotel. :) |
Stick to bottled water. My friend got super ill in Miami last year because he was drinking tap water. |
not unless you want a Johnny Depp experience - it's laced with LSD :lol but seriously, it's North America. Tap water is pretty much safe everywhere in metro areas. How does your friend know it was from the tapwater? he probably ate some unsanitary food. |

Objectives/Goals I wanted to determine if the quality of tap water across the United States varied. My hypothesis was that there will not be any difference in the tap water quality throughout the United States because of the Clean Water Act. Methods/Materials I collected tap water samples from 39 different locations across the United States. I recorded the exact location by latitude and longitude coordinates using a Magellan GPS unit. At each location I collected 2 samples of tap water and tested each sample for total bromine (ppm), chlorine (ppm), pH, and total alkalinity (ppm) using "PoolTime" brand test strips. Results 78 water samples were collected. No bromine was found in 46.15% of the samples. Total bromine samples varied from 0 - 3 ppm. No chlorine was found in 91.03% of the samples. Chlorine samples varied from 0 - 1 ppm. A pH of 6.8 was recorded most frequently (23.68%) in the samples with all samples having a pH range of 6.8 - 8.0. Total alkalinity showed the most variability. A total alkalinity of 0 - 40 ppm was most frequently observed (14.47%). The total alkalinity varied from 0 ppm to greater than 240 ppm. Conclusions/Discussion I found that tap water quality does vary throughout the United States even though the EPA tries to regulate it. Water quality reports from 6 different locations support my findings that tap water quality does differ throughout the United States. Tap water quality for chlorine, bromine, pH and alkalinity varies across the United States. |
booze and gatorade. that's all i drink in vegas. |
You shower in it...you brush your teeth with it...so why not drink it? However, with that said, I usually get a 6 pack of water and a big jug like someone else mentioned. I'll drink from the jug in the hotel, and carry a bottle with me if I'm going somewhere. |
vegas is fine to drink tap water. I've had it lots of times and not a single issue |
^ Sure it's fine but would you want to risk it and be ill the rest of your trip and on the way back? I sure don't hehe... i'd rather buy water when I'm out there but that's just me. |
^ it's fine in vegas no questions asked. The water is just a bit more kinda dry/grainy tasteing thats all. This isn't mexico or the dom rep. |
Water in Vegas is highly chlorinated. After a shower, your skin will feel a little dry because of it. But like what everyone else has said. Go to Walgreens and buy some water. Plus they are open 24 hours and there is like one on every corner block. |
tap water is totally fine, love how the world is scaring people with how bottled water is the only safe source of water that's good to drink. people get sick rarely from local water. it's more like food poisioning that will kill ya, |
DON'T DRINK IT. I drank water at all the high end hotels and stuff (glass water that they give you, which is probably from the tap ) and I got the stomach flu, I literally, took a shit in every single hotel on the strip every like, 3 hrs cause the tap water gave me diarreah :( fkin, worst experience ever. By the way... the best place to take a shit is at ceasears lol |
i wouldnt drink the water in the hotels there, its all recycled water, you can see the filtration plant when you fly over, our water closet at our room in the signature had a really odd smell most of the time from the water |

Tap water in Vegas is nasty tasting. All water from showers and toilets and stuff is recycled and put back into the system. |
