Is there any way phone companies can check text messages?

Can employees at say Rogers check the messages I have sent/recieved?

Alphamale 03-08-2009 09:59 PM

Are you afraid that your mom is going to inquire about your text msgs?

JordanLee 03-08-2009 10:03 PM

^LOL. Maybe they can if the law or police requires them to do so? Im not sure.

Is It Possible For Phone Companies To Listen To My Phone Conversations?

I'm wondering if its possible for phone companies to tap my phone calls without me knowing? And if they do tap into my calls, how will I know?

And can they see the SMS messages I send and who I send them to?

Also, do they know where I am when I use my phone?

TIA

Does the Phone Company know When I pay my phone bill?

i want to know if the phone company knows when I pay my phone bill? Like..when I send them a payment or pay using a credit card, is it necessary to call customer service to let them know whether or not my payment was recieved?

As far as I know, phone conversations are usually not tapped by your phone company, but it can be tapped by the Police, under certain circumstances..

and SMS is a Free for all, anyone with a computer and the right technical knowledge can read your SMS over the air, that includes Berries as well.

At this time, your cellphone emits a signal to the closest tower that provides a general proximity of where you are located, but cannot pinpoint you to the exact block or house of where you are, but they are planning to change that in the near future.

611/*611 is the customer-support number with most wireless carriers. I can't speak for others, but I know Telus has never charged me for it, and I've spent some LONG calls on the phone with them.

Amuse 03-09-2009 07:34 AM

Are you sure? I somehow don't believe you.

Help! Who is my wireless provider!?

Hey guys,

I recently realized that I dont know who my wireless provider is. How do I find out for sure that I'm not on Verizon or NTT Docomo?

hi5-ive 03-09-2009 08:11 AM

CT10 03-09-2009 08:17 AM

haha...I was going to say, of all people, bcrdukes should know.

Anyways, it's free on Rogers. Can't speak for other providers but I don't see why it wouldn't be.

Did someone hack your account? You're asking a lot of questions and you seem kind of paranoid to boot.

What don't you believe?

That 611 is the customer-support number?

That Telus has never charged me for it?

That I've spent a lot of time on the phone with them?

I'm guessing bcrdukes account got hacked or he forgot to log off and someone's playing a prank on him.

Anyways, for the information of everyone else, Telus site says it's free

bcrdukes 03-09-2009 09:07 AM

Nono, I'm asking a serious, legitimate question. I know nothing about cell phones. I barely even know how to send a text message.

bcrdukes 03-09-2009 09:09 AM

No, I'm asking serious questions. I need to know so I know who to pay my bills to and so I don't roam on a European network so when I go to the coffee shop down the street, as I pull out my ever-so-hip and happenin' MacBook Pro while sipping on my megafuckerlatte, I can call my sweetbabycheeks vmec.

bcrdukes 03-09-2009 09:10 AM

^
Serious? I didn't think it was possible. More details please. I need to be 110% sure so that way, I can confess my never ending love for vmec within the privacy of my own home...I mean...Starbucks on Robson and Thurlow.
