| Chest Pains
K so for the past like.. 2.5-3 weeks i've been having these minor chest pains/pressure/strain on my middle/left side, i wasnt really all that concerned because it seemed more of a muscle thing then anything, also most of the time when it happens if i move my left arm or massage the area it usually goes away right away
but last night at work i experianced a more severe pain, it still wasnt really "pain" persay, but it definately didnt feel right, when it happened i kinda tripped myself out thinking it could be my heart etc. and i kind of got light headed [i think may have been from thinking about it so much] but it too eventually went away and as the day went on i felt fine, but i was pretty concerned, so this morning i went to the local drop in clinic which has 2 pretty good doctors that work there
I told the doc all my symptoms and how i've been experiancing it for over 2 weeks, so he listened to my heart/lungs, and took my blood pressure, all of which were very good, he then told me that it was really nothing to be concerned about and that almost all young people with chest pains are a result of the multiple layers of muscle that are in your chest etc. he then told me to take some anti-inflamatorys and it should be ok
i took some ibprofen [sp] today before work and it seemed better i guess
What do u guys think? i dont have a family doctor but im going to be going to the doctor my grandparents go to for a physical shortly

As long as it isn't getting hard for you to breath.. You're definitely on the safer side of things.

I use to get a sharp pain on the left side of ribs and daum it sucked cause the pain was sharp and when I breathed it hurt more. but at the same time when I regulate the breathing through the pain the sharpness went away. My family doctor told me it's nothing to worry about and something about the nerves. Eventually it went away though and I'm pain free.

I wouldnt worry about it if your young...
I made a post about the same pains around my chest almost a year or so back.. seems like your doctors right, a lot of young ppl get this.. ( myself + 2 other friends iknow get this ) and i remember a few people posted on my thread about getting it also..
BUT note.. none of us had any trouble breathing.. just pains :P so.. ya.. if your getting weezzy and heavy breathing i think you sohuld check it out with another doctor..

Hey I've had something similar for years now, mine varies either a pain where your heart is or extremely fast heart palpatations, followed by light headedness out of nowhere. I've been to my doctor several times and as other people posted apparently (according to my doctor) its normal. Ive had both ultra sound and the box you wear around for a day that measures heart rates and still nothing. Things my doctor said I could have had but apparently dont are, a possible heart murmur, thyroid issues, blood pressure issues. Do you drink a lot of caffeine or get little sleep or stressed? Those are also key factors. Hope that gives you some places to start looking incase it gets worse.

if it is not angina, heartburn, stomach Ulcer, other ulcers or asthma, its probably intercostal muscle spasm. Try to take some Magnesium supplement. ( 400mg twice a day) and see if it helps.
