WRONG!

The times on the left are 0-100, and the times on the right are quarter-mile.

NSX's are slow as shit, and for the money spent purchasing them, you're not getting much. Unless you plan on dumping tons of money into your car, grandma's Camry has a chance to run you down.

They're reliable cars, but as you already know, the parts and labour will cost you a lot of money and possible wait times.

Parts are usually not in stock at the local Acura stealerships. They come from Japan and take a few weeks to months.

Body panels are rediculously expensive. I sold an OEM hood to a body shop and it took 2 months to receive it from Japan. Price on the hood is close to $2000CAD.

Another guy fried his climate control switch panel. the whole unit cost that guy $1700.

call up Acura and ask them how much and how long a clutch job will cost you...you'll shit a brick.

What year are those NSX's? The OP wants to buy a early 90's.

There's always an exception to the rule for every car. There are getting stock C6 Z06's and stock SRT-10's in the 10's. Does that make those cars ten-second cars? I wouldn't say so.

EDIT: You own a teg eh... Now I can see why you're a honda fan boy.

fanboi or not, it is what it is. Lightweight cornering machine.

if it runs decent lap times around the track, its a nice car. AKA lotus elise.

If it runs fast for a stocky under 300hp 1/4 miles car, its a decent car.

Thought Z06 and SRT-10 in stock form runs high 11s low 12s

Be a realist, comparing the same car from 15 years earlier, its obviously gonna be faster now. If you want to compare cars produced recently, I can name way more cars that are faster than the NSX.

Bottom line, the NSX's that the OP wants from the early 90's aren't good value for what you're purchasing.

I agree. What I'm saying is theres always an exception. Because one can do it doesn't mean they all can.

Here is a Viper SRT-10 doing a stock ten sec pass. Does that mean Vipers are 10-sec stock cars... NO.

I couldn't find the vid of a C6 Z06, but it's been floating around the net for awhile. Maybe you've seen it.

When you find one, post pics!
I've driven a few NSXs' and love them! If i had money, i would purchase one hands down.
Overall, it comes down to "if you don't have the money to maintain it, don't buy it".
It's a Honda so i think the prices are reasonably affordable in contrast to euro vehicles.

yup, just like rotary engines

its like girls, u gotta maintain a certain level of funds coming out of ur pocket

the problem with NSX is that this aint no regular civics or integras flying around on the street. these are rare cars, with high MSRP back than, high MSRP cars = high residue value as well as parts to maintain

therefore parts can be hard to find, and aftermarket support will be very expensive since they view it as a JDM rare super car

Your reply is idiotic at best... just because I don't feel the need for a vehicle to display 600 hp doesn't imply that everyone should drive a car at the bottom spectrum in terms of hp. Your rationale is beyond hopeless. I guess you probably feel the need to push all 600 hp in your car to fight for a parking spot at T&T or Aberdeen centre huh?

Man this this thread has veered way off. Anyways, the NSX has always been by dream car because of the amount of engineering that went into it during its inception and the timeless design it possesses. After 18 years, it still doesn't look outdated. The car was built for corners, not 1/4 mile drags.

The NSX will always be my dream car because I just love the way it looks. I could buy an SRT-4 for 1/3 of the price and dump 10k into it and it would smoke an NSX. But to me, it's just not an NSX.
