Scientists Map the Brain, Gene by Gene

The human brain is surprisingly bloody. I've worked in neuroscience labs, and I'm used to seeing brains that are stored in glass jars filled with formaldehyde, the preserved tissue a lifeless gray. But this brain—removed from a warm body just a few hours ago—looks bruised, its folds stained purple. Blood drips from the severed stem, forming puddles on the stainless steel table.

it's incredible how very basic and limited our knowledge is on the subject.
in a journey that may be miles long we have only taken the first few steps. no doubt that journey is not a straight line, but one with multiple forks along the way. in the depths of the mind, it's easy to get lost. you have no idea where you are, or where you're going.
an amazing and beautiful piece of natural machinery found in each and every one of us. and all conceived from just a pair of conjoining haploid cells

as somebody who studies brain scans told me last week.

the human brain is not advanced enough to understand or figure out how the brain works. So we will never know!

He's only saying that cuz the tools they have right now are crude.

According to the article, they already mapped the mouse brain. So it's only a matter of time.. and finding brains to experiment on.
