I don't watch a lot of NJPW anymore, but I would still like to see Kenny and Kota together in some way. When Kota was getting beat down with a chair and brass knuckles, I was wishing Kenny would run in and make the save. It would do a lot for them in both promotions once they go back. Ibushi can be reinvigorated and make his run back to the top after a disastrous WK, and Kenny as well, who even has a sad intro video and is just starting to get some momentum for the first time since AEW started.
Where do you rate Jericho on wrestlings GOAT list.
I mean.. 2nd cruise, walks out.. as champion to his OWN SONG.. with the crowd singing every word to JUDAS..
He's pretty much accomplished everything.
I believe Moxley gonna win when they have their match for teh AEW match and hopefully transcend Mox to another level.
Really depends on criteria (like do you consider drawing power? or technical ability? entertainment level? importance to companies they worked for?) In any case, Jericho is among the all time greats for me. Ric Flair, Stone Cold, Chris Jericho. He's still working regularly, so we're lucky we get to watch him have his biggest run ever.
The singing was really cool, more organic than the singalongs they do in NXT (where the songs are clearly designed to be chanted, and the audience knows they're part of the show). I think the reason it happened here is because the cruise was a wrestling/Fozzy concert before, so there will be a lot of Fozzy fans in attendance. I like the song, but I'd never be able to sing along to it.
I do hope it turns into a "Kaze ni nare" for him, at least the chorus. The fact that it's audience created makes it extra special.
If you look at his accomplishments he has to be ranked up there with the greats. I just wish he was in a bit better shape these days. He is getting older but still there are other older guys who still look great. Especially being the "flagship" of AEW.
Yeah Jericho should definitely spend a bit more time on his conditioning. Nobody expects him to look like in his 20's, but he could at least keep his waistline down a bit. No excuse not to when you're the top guy at a company, and not a "legend" doing a run for the hell of it.
I just hope that wasn't Edges way out of in ring action until WM.
Samoa Joe apparently suffered a concussion last night as well. Dude can't stay healthy. It's ruined his career. Every time he build some momentum he gets sidelined with an injury.
There's a price to pay doing the things he does at his size and intensity.

Well shit. Edges contract details are out and he scheduled for 3 matches per year for the next 3 years. RR was the first and WM will be the 2nd. He's got 25 appearances on contract as well. He gets $1m per match.

Berz out.
not bad
AEW reportedly wanted him in a producer role with limited ring action.
Yea any talks with AEW were purely to leverage for he WWE contract. I wonder if AEW actually took his interest seriously or if they knew they were only being used.
I'm sure they at least talk to everyone, probably including Orton before he re-signed a few months ago. These guys are set for life though, and unless they have aspirations higher than just making money while keeping status quo, there's no reason for them to leave.
It's funny because we talk like this and I know history has proven us wrong. I never ever thought Hogan and several other WWF guys would have jumped ship but yet the "deep pockets" won them in the end.
I still remember my utter disbelief in Hogan going to WCW.
I always read the Observer and Torch, so I kind of knew what was going on behind the scenes... In many ways it's more interesting than the actual product!

Details on Edge's contract from the Observer today:
Quote:
This all dates back to last summer when AEW made Edge a major offer to wrestle a few matches per year. Edge used that offer, which he told WWE was for $3 million per year and he would start when the company got television as his leverage, to get the same deal with WWE. So that was his leverage to get one of the highest deals in WWE history. The reports were out that his deal was for five matches and 25 television shows per year, but we are told that the money figure is correct but the date numbers are not accurate and that there are more matches and dates involved in the deal. The deal is far less than people like Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg have gotten, since Goldberg earned $2 million just for doing his match with Undertaker.
