OK so basically that's all there is to it - he's burnt out and done with WWE. He is tired of being the #2 or #3 top face rather than the #1 heel. He is beat up and was just going through the motions lately... His contract was up in July anyway, and nobody expected him to resign. He tried to get in touch with Vince all day on Monday, but Vince was busy rewriting the show (to deal with the crowd potentially taking over again) so they couldn't talk before the show was about to start.

He also hasn't been dating AJ in a long time, and when they did it was only for a short time. She sounds like a bit of a headcase too

Damn that's crazy. CM Punks a pretty big superstar to lose. But my man Batista back! Didn't think he'd win the rumble, going to start keeping up with wrestling again for wrestlemania.

I was not impressed with Batista's performance at the Rumble ... he looked ... old. That being said I am excited for Reign's push which I expect should be coming sooner rather than later. He needs a new finisher though, the Spear is played out.

It wasn't announced on the WWE website so I would assume so. Doesn't really make sense for Punk to just randomly leave even if he isn't in the main event.
