Awesome lunch joint if you work in downtown.

Serves mainly Vietnamese food around $7-8. That's a steal considering the area.

+1 I am ALWAYS there.

#2, #12, #21...I think.

A bunch of guys go there all the time and they usually get a plate of 6 poached eggs...weird.

Bons on Broadway anyone? :D

"Hole in the wall" doesn't necessarily mean a dirty place. The way I see it, it's a simple, authentic, unpretentious place that is not very well known.

so ur definition of a hole in the wall is the decor ?

i thot it was mainly about the food

and that not a lot of ppl tried that place out...and just walk/drive by it without realli noticing it

so i assume all the high class restaurants are considered hole in the wall for u? haha

hamsup 04-22-2009 12:56 PM

To me.. a HOLE IN THE WALL RESTAURANT --> Food speaks for the restaurants reputation..

no need for advertisements everywhere, hot waitresses, stupid gimicks, and posh decor.

I would say modern club, honolulu cafe, au petit cafe, cafe delight.. etc....

the ultimate hole in the wall place: roundup cafe in whalley, surrey

best burger ive ever had.

Ikkaku 04-23-2009 10:28 AM

I personally like Fresgo Inn in Surrey. Not sure if it's what people would normally call a hole in the wall restaraunt, but I've been going to that place since I was really young, when it still had a location in Downtown.

I love the double mushroom burger. They also have ribs and chicken, served with a plate of spaghetti. Good value imo.

Argo Cafe. Main and 2nd area. Low price, but high quality food. Only opened for breakfast + lunch. Food is amazing. Menu is different everyday. Usually super packed at lunch. Looks like a dump from the outside. Almost makes you think you're at the wrong place. Once you sit down and eat it's a whole new story.

i eat there a couple times a week for lunch...so good

racerman88 04-23-2009 09:49 PM

sonick 04-24-2009 08:03 AM

Sweet... I think I'll swing by Argo Cafe saturday morning with the gf for breakfast, then swiss bakery and pick up a baguette, then at night friends and I are planning on hitting up Hawker's Cafe.
