Need opinions for my dad

So my dad is looking at two cars and I just wanted to get your guys opiions. He's looking at either a 2001 300M or a 2003 Kia Magentis (same as Sonata).

Just wanted to get some opinions on what route he should go.

Neither... those are two not very good choices. If I had to pick, the Kia.

How much does he want to spend? Does he have a monthly payment in mind?

What kind of driving does he do? City, Highway, Hills?

Does he prefer: smaller engine/fuel economy or bigger engine/performance

Does he need lots of trunk space? Or rear passenger space? Or flexible/fold-down seating?

Does he need AWD or FWD or RWD?

and to the op, it looks like your dad is just looking for a decent car to have/commute in, a honda accord, toyota camry, would be awesome choices.

Problem is price. He only wants to spend something in the $6000 range with no monthly payments. Thing he cares most about is that it has to have a decent to large size trunk. No preferences to engine size, drivetrain, or fuel economy. Wants something above a year 2000.

If he's ok with a minivan... http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/cto/1111454607.html It's fairly small as minivans go, but not bad.

Kia Rio Wagon: http://bc.repo.com/details/33804

Ford Taurus sedan: http://bc.repo.com/details/33076

Saturn L300 wagon: http://bc.repo.com/details/33138

Another Saturn wagon: http://bc.repo.com/details/33401

Crown Vic LX, if you really need that big trunk and plainclothes cop-car look. http://bc.repo.com/details/33712

All under $6000.

for something newer there's 2003 Mitsubishi Galant which are actually full size sedans and usually under 6000.

to me if it was a brand new kia, go for it since you'll be under warranty for a long time...

if he cares about price, he's going to care about fuel economy. I never had problems with 2001+ accords etc... good mileage/power wise.
