| Buying an AWD SUV/CUV
I am currently looking to buy an AWD SUV / CUV
So far I have narrowed down to pretty much the Subaru Forester and Mitsubishi Outlander.
Does anyone have any recommendations and know how much I can haggle on the price?

Yes I 've heard good things about subaru's 4wd system.
I forgot to mention that fuel economy is a big factor too, need something I can commute to work 100km a day without burning too much gas.

rav4 is has a good fuel economy with its 4 cyclinder engine about 9L/100km i think?

I had the chance to drive a couple of the new outlanders. There very solid vehicles and have a nice interior to match. They have really nice styling too. I would go for the outlander if it was my choice. 
btw, the outlander has the cvt transmission which is good for the fuel economy your looking for. Im sure if you went to a dealership you could haggle a bit on the price.

ya Rav4 or CRV would be a better choice if Fuel Economy is a big factor for you, unless you really care about the 4wd system.

what about a hybrid SUV?
maybe a Diesel??
If its between the two u have chosen?....the Subaru gets my vote

I would consider Diesel as well, most hybrid SUVs would be out of my price range.

well depends on what you want.
if you need good fuel economy CR-v will be a MUCH better choice as it's fwd based it's weight will be much better. However if you like to handle in the snow like it's on rails a subby is be the one. if you want to carry the most as possible get the Rav-4.
so depending on what you want, its hard to choose

rav4 v6. most power in its call.. but then again it does drink gas with city driving. but winter time comes. it moves pretty well.

I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS V6 and I have to say it's been a great vehicle. Handling is pretty good for a CUV, and the Bluetooth and FASTKey system is great. I love the tailgate, it's VERY useful if you're doing anything outdoors, gives you a great place to sit beneath a cover w/o making a big impression on your ass. The 5 year comprehensive/ 10 year powertrain warranty is also a plus.
The 4wd system is excellent as well, in AUTO mode it's hard to tell when it distributes the power since it's pretty quick, I think normally it splits it 80:20 f/r. In 2wd mode it gives better fuel economy, but imo it's not as easy to drive smoothly (lights up the front tires too easily with the V6). In 4WD LOCK mode it splits power 40:60 f/r for those necessary snow donuts. 
Fuel economy is not bad for a V6, I average 11L/100kms in mostly city driving. It also uses 87 octane.
The only gripe I have about it is the interior seems a bit cheap, and the plastics can scratch easily. The 2010 Outlander should have improvements in this area, but it'll also get the Lancer front nose, which I think is uglier.

we love our new MDX, drove awesome in the snow. Gas isn't too bad

between subaru and mitsubishi, i'd go with subaru because my cousin's subaru imprezza's awd drives really well in the snow...
then again.. i am bias since i've never been in a mitsubishi's awd system...
what i'm saying here is that it's a safe bet to put your pennies on a subura's awd system..
