Not enough tire smoke and crazy-mad powerslides. Or the Stig.

while this vid isnt exciting, and I'm not much of a fan of the new e-class. I'm sure this vid is meant to appeal to more affluent buyers.
I loved the exhaust roar, and the video show's the car's stability and composure through the turns, which I'm sure they'll attribute to the revised front suspension geometry.
Powerslides and tire smoke while entertaining aren't exactly ways to showcase various aspects of the car on a video that's probably gonna be played again and again in dealer show rooms.

For some reason the car reminds me of a Dodge Magnum from the side. Not a good thing.

Give me a break. | You mention technologies that actually improved safety. LED DRL's are not an advance in safety technologies, they are there specifically for style. Current generation solutions for DRL's are adequate, and safer. Why? Because LED DRL's are actually distracting to other drivers on the road!
90% of the people on this message board probably take a second or third peek in the rear-view when they see LED DRL's behind them (taking their eyes off the road). For no good reason other to see if it's an R8, only to be disappointed that it's a stock A4.
Styles all have to start somewhere, BMW brought the "Angel Eyes/Halos" to the mainstream and now in the case of LED DRL's that title is going to AUDI.

I have no problem with that. I think Audi is 1 of the pioneers to intuitively incorporate more LEDs into vehicles.
However, to imply that because Audi first brought it to the mainstream, and therefore only Audi should be allowed to carry the trend? That's a stupid thing to say. "leave the led's to the audis" is 1 of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Should Audi have left AWD to whoever came out with that first? Or maybe Audi should leave 4 doors, an engine, a trunk, and windows to whoever came out with that first?
Trends come from everywhere. The fact that so many manufacturers adopt trends into their own designs is, IMO, partially due to the fact that they want to stay competitive with their rivals. MB, BMW, whoever - they want to sell you cars, and if something so simple as LEDs is going to make their product stand out like the rest, then they're going to damn well do it.
I'm not going to debate how much more/less safe LEDs are to cars. You presented an example, which to me, is very subjective. AFAIK, LEDs primary gain is to decrease the electrical demand of new cars. They offer brighter light using less electricity. Do they happen to look good, too? Great, that's a plus. The fact that features like this have more than 1 sole function for it's existence is a thumbs-up in my book.
