does this classify it as being naked now? :D Its even further along being pulled apart now, wheels and tires are off and separated too (painting them flat black with a red reflective stripe) I was pretty surprised at how easy it is to pull the tires with good tire mounting lube and a couple of irons (and some 2x4's to break the bead) http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...a/DSC01067.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...a/DSC01068.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...a/DSC01069.jpg |
Ride it like that! |
with no wheels, tires, gas tank, carbs, radiator or battery i dont think it'll get too far :p oh and in case of a natural disaster, we're well enough stocked that you guys can come over and live off our food for a few weeks |
It looks like you're running a grocery store out of your garage. That bike looks great naked. Too bad we don't get the honda vtr250 here. It looks like this: http://www.motorcycledaily.com/041509top.jpg |

Carbs are all fixed and good to go again, valves adjusted, spark plugs changed, coolant flushed Finished painting the front wheel/adding reflective wheels stripes/mouting my new tire (dunlop gt 501) http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...0/DSC01073.jpg and got bored and made myself some bar end mirrors to see what they'd look like (total cost 11.50 plus tax) http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...0/DSC01082.jpg Now just gotta pop off the rear wheel and dismount the tire, paint and stripe that wheel and mount/balance the new rear. If you're mounting/removing tires yourself, one thing i've learned, use LOTS of lube, it makes life so much easier :) |
One of my new fave ex250's Theres a cheap one locally (not running) that I've been thinking of hacking up something along these lines, and this guy just posted up these pics of his today: a before/after shot http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...oreafterlt.jpg a bunch more afters http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...finninja04.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...finninja01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...finninja02.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...finninja05.jpg On another note, I finished painting/striping my rear wheel on the weekend and put everything back together with new dunlop gt-501's, funny what a difference a set of new sporty tires will do versus a set of SUPERSUPER shitty factory tires that are 11 years old |
Definitely better looking now than the stock.:thumbsup::thumbsup: |
I would get rid of the front fender, and find a way to customize the seat. |
so...no more decals? |
no more decals, i'm not a huge fan of decals for the most part |
Damnnn the new color of the rims look very sexyyyy! Matches the color of the bike VERY nicely. Just a tiny tiny tiny bit off but still looks very good. Good job man, hope i have the skills to do that one day. |
thanks :) its looking better now that i've made a delete for the passenger grab handle, put some nice bar end's on, made plugs for the stock mirror holes, and I have 2 different solo cowls in the work (just finishing work on the fiberglass left to do) |
