2009 Acura TL vs. 2009 Hyundai Genesis Sedan

I would like some input/opinion. Assume both cars come fully loaded (TL SH-AWD Tech) vs. (4.6 w/ Technology Package). Which car would you choose and why?

Update: I added another car into the mix: 2009 G37x AWD Sport

are they in the same price range?
if $$ is not the issue, I would pick TL~ and the first thing I would do is somehow cover up the grille

genesis... just because it's RWD.

and you couldn't do this with a TL:

(and i hate that TL grille/snout/whatever the hell that thing is growing on the front of it)

If you car about car dynamics, then the Hyundai is a better choice. If you just want to satisfy your feature fetish, then Acura will win.

if you're not getting the car to showcase your status, I would get the genesis as well. I've seen the car in person and it looks way better than the new TL. I don't know about the reliability of these new cars but all my friends (and my mom) who owned a Hyundai never had a problem with them. One friend who has a Hyundai Sonata and during the 4 years of lease has never done a single maintenance other than 3 oil changes. Nothing wrong ever happened to the car.

If only the TL came looking like this, grill inspired by the late 90s RL
* Changed the ugly Chrome 2-piece into a 1=piece
* Deleted the Acura shield of UGLY

Yes, I got bored and am doing everything to avoid studying.

Original:

I'd pick the TL just for resale value. Even if you kept it for close to twenty years, they will still hold a decent value. (Example : Acura Legend 91+)

TL- Black with burgundy interior, 20s, Kit, Drop. I've seen one before and it looks really good.

I'm being baised though. I've yet to see a Genesis that appeals to me.

I'd pick the genesis, but really, it doesn't matter what I pick.

take them both out on the road, compare prices options, everything.

I hear the stereo in the Genesis is amazing! try that out for sure.

TL SH AWD w Tech = 49,815

Genesis 4.6L Tech = 48,995

I would take the Genesis any day of the week. The TL has great appointments and a very good AWD system, but it really does look that bad. And not just the front, the rear is a mish-mash of design elements too.

Wayyy too busy.

The Genesis has an elegance to it and feel of a much more expensive luxury car. It really feels like it should cost more then $50g's.

Hopefully people can look past the badge and at least try taking it for a spin.

Kev
