Will the SE C905 be coming to Rogers?
 

So the shutter button on my SE k850 died today, which sucks 'cuz the camera is the main reason I bought this phone.

Anyways, I'm a huge fan of high-MP phones and take a TON of pictures (I'm up to around 4,000 in the 11 months I've had the phone, and no, it's not under warranty, since it's a replacement for another k850 I had before).

Anyways, I was dead-set on getting a Nokia N95, when I bumped into the SE C905 on the net and that looks like my dream phone...any idea if and when it might be coming to Rogers?

My k850 has had its fair share of troubles too...sad 'cuz when they work they're awesome phones (especially for a photo guy)

first was speaker
then it was speaker+no keypad light
and then the same thing
and then the same thing

that sucks...sounds like a firmware problem...hope they fix it and throw it at the NA market...would probably do well. I really don't wanna get the N95, but I won't get another k850...and I need a phone soon, so the 905 better come out haha...I just hope someone knows of leaks or something...it was on Rogers' magazine's front page...so I'm thinking it'd be hard for them to back down from that kind of commitment...

if it really is a firmware problem, having a Rogers firmware on the phone should do good.
My Rogers k850 (now debranded) still works wonders, but the phone is flawed with dust underneath the front screen and the back of the camera lens and LED.

Most likely something wrong with the China/HK firmware.

y dont u just get a samsung innov8? i had it and it owns, except for the batt life haha

Thanks for the suggestion! I've never heard of it before. Did you have it on a Rogers network? I'm pretty dumb when it comes to bringing a phone the company does not offer onto the Rogers network...say I got my hands on an innov8...how would I make it work with my current plan, etc?

good god...just checked out ebay.ca and they're all around $650-700 tooooo much for a phone haha...I'd rather get an N95 and keep the $400+ difference...

you're right...they suck ass. I mean mine only has 800+ hrs of talk time, 30,000 texts and 4,000 pictures taken with it and, aside from a few freezes it's never given me ANY grief...btw the shutter button fixed itself...I'll stick with my SEs for now, thank you very much.

as for why Rogers might entirely scrap the C905, this is from my own opinion and not from a source. My source clearly said that the future of C905 is uncertain due to economic times plus quality factors on recent SE products. X1 could also be scraped due to the failure of the WinMo smartphone in North America

Rogers had a product from Nokia by the name of 5300. It was a slider mp3 phone. The thing was so cheaply made that returns/repairs/warranties were almost certain with each sale of the product.


with Rogers being 30mil in the red for Q4, do you think the company can take such a risk.

SE on the other hand, is also in the red, which could effect on production of phones for the NA market, since the biggest chunk of money comes from panpacific/europe

anyways, I USE TO BE a big SE fan, but since the product image change(c902 and on), their products have been crap, and not "innovative" like other companies try to do. and when i say crap, it was the quality of the product. How does one company allow a flagship product to ship with so many flaws?

if you really wanted a C905, then go spend the $580+/- from local sellers, which gives u the full OFFICIAL product. becuz the c905 will most likely launch(if it launches) at 199 on a 3yr+data, meaning you probably have had your k850i for about 1.5yrs from Rogers and fall into tier2/3 pricing for a hardware upgrade. teir2/3 meaning $50-75 more than what a new customers pays on a new activation of a C905
