Look on craigslist or do a search on buy and sell here.

I would say $13-17K depending on condition and prior accidents.

RSX-S only has 5spd. 12k is pretty reasonable and since he's your friend, shouldn't you get a "deal" on it?

seems like this car will hold its value pretty good in the long term, so if he'll sell it to you for 12-14k its probably a keeper

thanks everyone for your inputs

ya.. if it was my friend i would probably try to get a "deal" from him
but its actually a friend's friend whom i dont know, so i dont want to lowball him. actually he made an offer of 14k this morning. But from what i gathered for a no accident 03 type-s with 50k range is about 12k-13k. so should i try to bargin with him? or settled at that. BTW i've seen the car looks pretty clean and according to him drives pretty smooth too.

thanks again

it probably should drive smooth seeing that it only has 50k,
seems like a really good car though, good room in the back, decent on gas, good looking,
I'd say 13 is pretty reasonable, doesn't hurt to try 12 though lol 9-10k is way too low though for something of this mileage, its practically new

you need to give more info for us to give you a more accurate offer. for example
accidents?
service records?

yes it's low mileage, but it can still have accidents and poor service records.

hi. let me add a bit more detail that i know of

the owner changed the brakes and tires about 2k ago
he didnt say what he used though, so i assume its just your regular all season tires

there was no theft, nor any accidents and he was the second owner, he has all the service record on hand, serviced at richmond acura.

and lastly the car is completely stock.

i hope this helps. thanks

Dang autodealers are selling base RSX for like $19000-$20000 with like 40,000km. Your getting a huge bargain if your getting a Type-S for $14K.

But it seems to be hard to find a RSX-S for $14K, with low KM, generally it's high KM.

You call any auto insurance broker and ask them what the blackbook value for that car is.

The insurance broker only gives the gold book value (which is insurance value aka for tax purposes). The toyota.ca website has a section where you can appraise trade-in values (aka dealer trades)

wow these things lost in value. My parents have an 03 premium auto with 108k, I figured it was worth 16-20k haha. which is still a crazy loss in depreciation.

for $14k with 50k on it you should be laughing. for bonus points, get it checked out at a shop and see if anything is wrong!

I know with my parents, at 6 years and 100+k kms it has no leaks, doesnt burn oil, and other than brakes and oil changes, all they've done is a window motor (under warranty) and at 98k kms we did a serpentine belt cuz it was noisy. No other problems to speak of!

As a RSX-S owner myself, I can tell you for a '03 RSX-S with on 50k for $14,000 is a great deal! A few months back, I saw a white '03 RSX-S with 90k at my local Acura dealership going for $19,950...

I actually took a pic just for future reference in case I decided to sell mine...

14K is a good deal. but get the car checked by a mech and get the history from carproof.
