^ I had I fair sized account with IB and they treat me like shit which is alright when you consider I was paying $2 a contract for ES Futures.
The real problem was when my stop sell order was met. It went over 10 points (2.50) past my stop and still didn't trigger. I canceled the order and resubmitted it. I had confirmation from my trade screen that the order was indeed stopped and my new sell was executed almost instantly.
I phoned the trade desk right after all of this to make sure that there were no outstanding orders on my account. I was told that my order was canceled and that my new order was place and executed and that there were no back orders or pending orders on my account.
When I asked why my stop had not executed I was told it was because the stock had not moved enough in my direction.
I don't need some dickwad making $15 and hour to tell me the price has to run a few ticks above my number to sell out. This isn't the first time this has happened and every time I get some bullshit answer.
I went out that evening and when I came home I wanted to check some charts before bed which I typically do not do. Guess what? I was in a short order at the price I had canceled that same day as my stop sell!! What in the fuck?!
Of course I can't phone anyone so I'm thinking should I sell this and take a profit (lucky for me it was about a buck in my favor so I was making money) or leave it alone since maybe this is a glitch?
I sold it and the next day asked wtf is going on? I was told it was because I had not canceled my order!!!
I explained I had phoned and was told the order was no longer on the system as I canceled it and they had confirmed this. I also said I should have never had to have canceled it and make another order because the initial stop sell order was not only hit, but surpassed for over an hour.
I was pretty much told to go fuck myself which I thought was pretty retarded considering they're the ones who fucked up. I'm lucky I checked my account because the next morning the market moved up about 45 points (over 11.00) and I would have woke up to a massive negative position.
This isn't a few contracts either, I was short over 100 contracts!
I'm not a fan of quest trade either but at least when something does fuck up, I can call someone and get help and I'm not told that I can either deal with it or leave. I think I might be banned from IB because I threatened the manager and said I was going to get his address off the internet and kill his family.
Yeah... anyways I'm using QT for stocks and another firm for futures.
