Calm down there.

I've had LOTS of work from AK. Including custom work left and right. Perhaps they just don't like you because you get offended easily.

does it make sense to cost $800 for fixing there bumper? (they wont be replacing the bumper, just prep and paint) but does $800 seem like a lot?

Nope... that seems about right. That colour won't be easy to match either... stupid GM and their 20 different shades of silver/gold...

I backed into an 89 Olds Supreme over the winter, cost me near $600 to repaint part of the fender and replace a corner light... damn car wasn't even worth that $600, it was a major piece of shit!!! But it was my fault, so I 'manned up' and found the owner, paid for the repairs, etc.

im with jlenko on this one...

it does cost a billion dollars because they have a million shades. as well as a perfect color match is almost impossible as well.

like i said before. Arbor body shop in Vancouver is the best body shop that I know of. They are ICBC cert as well, so they will be able to handle your claim.

i came from westwood plateau... so not that diff, it's worth it for a good job. Craftsman is decent i heard from a few people who used to work there after HS.. however if you're paying this one, they ARE pricey

You could try buffing them out... but sanding a clear headlight lens is going to look like absolute shit.

Depending on how bad they are.. you might have to get a new headlight assembly.

If theres damage to the headlight make sure to tell them
They should sand it out for you

If they're a good shop they'll guarantee their work and take care of any problems that you have

There's not much hassle if you're only claiming property damage and not bodily injury.

You both make an appointment to have them look at the vehicles and they assign fault (which in this case may be clear cut).

Then the at-fault party has the OPTION of having ICBC pay the claim with a corresponding premium hit, or, you buy out the claim and there is no affect on premiums (which is the same end result of not going to ICBC).
