I recall seeing some videos of this truck a while ago.
I think its running a single turbo 2JZ swap.

No, it's not that sick. Just an interesting car because of the history. Way back, when it first came out, it and the Lexus LS400 were some serious competition, if not outright superior to the S-Class at the time. Think about that. 1st pitch home run for the both of them.

The car in the pic actually had California plates. Saw it parked at a rest stop on the Sea-to-Sky on the weekend.

Re: fail twitchy trigger fingers, I thought it was established that interesting cars were allowed in this thread.

But this... anyone else think this looks fuckin' ridiculous?. So much time and effort went into doing this, but it just doesn't look right. (I did read it's a conversion, and it screams it...)

P.S. - Dylan, I always look forward to the lastest batch of pics you toss up!

With his good eyes and lighting fast camera reflexes, Dylan should start his own thread for "Hot Chicks in Vancouver".

They Are Toyo T1R's, I'm pretty sure their on right, SR installed them and the writing is the right way....

!e.lo_ 06-16-2012 11:32 AM

well, they aren't on the right way.

just cause SR installed them doesn't mean it's been mounted correctly, if you look at the tread almost anyone can tell you they are mounted on wrong

!e.lo_ 06-16-2012 12:34 PM

WAIT GUYS! for all we know, maybe he likes going in reverse a lot, really fast.

the writing always seems right, it's the direction of the tire. there must be an arrow or something on the tire indicating the correct mount.

MindBomber 06-16-2012 12:48 PM

There's a not unpopular school of thought that suggests there are benefits to mounting directional tires backwards. TireRack has an article on it, but I'd hesitate to consider their findings unbiased. I believe the general theory is that it provides better grip at the expense of wet handling since water is funneled to the center of the tire.

I think SR mounted them backwards...

belaud 06-16-2012 12:59 PM

Did you guys hire 2 models for your own private shoot? :suspicious:

Thats dedication.

PJ 06-16-2012 03:03 PM

No, it was a company promo shoot that we were using Matt and his friends' cars for.
Since we already had all the cars and everyone out, a couple ladies came and got some shots in for their portfolios.
