Without the m-sport package, it looks way too tame, so no.

Good thing for E9X owners is that the interior hardly changed, and IMO, the interior actually looks worse b/c of the weird tablet thing that doesn't flow with the dash. Exterior is wider which is always better, but difference in appearance comparing the E92 to the F32 is tiny...whereas the difference from E46 to E92 was HUGE. The E92 will not look dated till the next release probably.

I was picking up parts at the dealership with a friend and as we were walking out I pointed to a 428i and asked her what she thought of it and she said "isn't that the same as yours?" :fullofwin:

And wow at the price difference between the 3 and 4. I guess the name change justifies the price increase to BMW but I find it outrageous for what is essentially the same car.

BMW pricing over the past couple of years has baffled me. Like for example, the 650i GC is a few grand cheaper than a M5, when you start adding options the GC is nearing $130k which is 7 series territory. It's no wonder BMW isn't moving the GC out of showroom, they obviously wanted to create a niche market for the GC and they have because they're not selling these cars at all.

And like I said, the 4 series is nice but not $80k nice. There's so many other cars within the $60k - $80k price range you can purchase that make more sense.

mikey2781 10-11-2013 04:52 PM

I made my decision on ordering the M4 a couple months back thinking it would be $80k, but a friend who works at BMW told me the M4 will be priced around $110k. Nah, I'll go pick up a GTR instead or maybe I'll get my first american car and go for a fully loaded top of the line stingray for $65k.

Styling of all the 2012+ models are all too similar, I have trouble telling the difference between a 3series and a 5series... In fact, 3 series looks more expensive than the 5. E60 5 series is the most distinct and best looking 5 series that will ever be made.

And the new BMW naming scheme is so bad. Makes all the even number series "coupes" and then they add GRAN COUPES into the 4 series and 6 series making them simply "sporty sedans".

I think the generation of car styling from 2003-2010 was the largest leap ever. Makes all the older than 2003 cars look old, but makes all the newer than 2010 cars look like "nothing has changed". When you look at a 2006/7 3 series, it looks almost the same as a 2014 3 series. Looking at Infinitis, G35 looks the same as the G37, and the G37 looks the same as the Q50. But if you look at say a 2001 Infiniti sedan, it looks like just another shitbox... Lets not forget the 2004 M3 compared to the 2008 M3, jesus christ its like we leaped 30 years into the future. The older TT compared to a 2009 TT, complete overhaul and makes the older one look like a shitbox. 2003 C class compared to the C class in the last few years, makes the 03 look like a 30 year old car. And the previous gen Lexus IS still looks amazing, makes the older ones look old and makes the newer ones look cheap. One thing I noticed about older cars is that the door side mouldings is what makes the cars look so dated.

Lol regular BMW... would you even buy an $80k M4?

knight604 10-11-2013 05:01 PM

80k M4 i would consider but it won't be the case.

Yes, it seems as if the car makers are reusing the same side chassis and changing back and front, which is much cheaper than changing the front, back, AND the sides.

The 3 coupe and the 4 series have similar, if not the SAME, side chassis.

This also applies to the C, E, S Benz's, and unfortunately, some of the Audis as well.

-----------------------

The base price will be almost the same as the old M3.

If you add in ALL of the options, tax, PDI, etc., you MAY near $100k.

But, most M4 builds won't near $100k, all costs added in.

Probably around $90k or low $90ks.

Realistically, BMW knows who their competitors are, so common sense would dictate, in order to sell profitably, that BMW would price it similar to the old M3 and the current C63 AMG.

G5 specializes in doing real work, not vinyl wrapping and swapping wheels.

Seen this tonight on main street. One of those rare cars where the front and the back are the same size.

You might be able to squeak out a 2014 3LT Z51 Vette for 65k, but fully loaded can run you nearly 90k, and that's in the US. In Canada you're probably looking at 6 figures for a fully loaded equivalent. I'm not sure if this is legal, but some dealers might try to add a little extra on top with the demand.

Harvey Specter 10-13-2013 02:33 PM

Side note about the Stringray, I tried to order a Stringray for flipping purposes but uncle who owns a few GM dealerships in California told me there's a big waiting list. There's currently a 6-8 month waiting lists and the ones which were ordered by dealers will have $10k-$15k markups.
