The owner actually plans on driving up and down Sea to Sky to go snowboarding up at Whistler- fully utilizing the 4 wheel drive capabilities and his ski box. The whole set-up is completely practical- albeit an ultra luxury good.

The likelihood of seeing a hella flush Audi/VW is common since it's relatively inexpensive compared to an exotic that's customized and geared up for winter sports.
TLDR
Because bell shaped distribution and outliers.

Of course this doesn't include insurance which would add a few hundred a month so it is doable on a 6 figure salary but "most" people with money won't fork over that kind of down payment and than pay $2000/month for a rental.
The LP700 on the other is on a different level and you need to be making 7 figures and the ability to pay cash. It's ridiculous how much money is floating around this city especially when you see 5 LP700's parked together. | You don't absolutely have to pay cash for an Lp700... I knew a guy who leased an LP640 roadster when they first came out. He put $120k down and paid $4k/month for the lease... You're a bit low on your insurance estimate, he was paying $25k/year with ICBC (he had a 43% discount)... I told him to go private, but he didn't bother

I forgot the conditions of an open end lease but I think its worse than a closed-end lease

open end you have to guarantee the end of term buyout to leasing company, so you have to cover the difference they lose when you return the car if there is any vs. what the residual was. Can do either for exotic cars.
@xpl0sive, older exotics like F430s can qualify for the cheaper insurance. I think as of 2007 it switches to the premium which is $20k+ a year. I don't know when the change was for lambo though.
LP700 doesn't need to be bought with cash.

Speaking of 25 year old m3s.....My wife spotted this yesterday.
I know 997 turbos aren't exactly rare. Cool to see it in red on the BBS wheels though
500 feet away from the red turbo. Cab on centerlocks with the ceramic brakes.
In before the flow of tears about an ipotato5 night photo. I edited it in photobucket but it usually takes a bit to update the link so it may get lighter

nice spots!
the black cab with ceramics and center lock is probably a Turbo S.
P.S. I have driven that red 997 before. I gotta say the offset on those wheels are wrong though.
