But if you seriously think that faux leather looks good then I don't know what to say.

Im with westopher a lot of things look unique, doesnt mean whatsoever that they are intelligent.

Why would you want your car to be leather? It doesn't even make sense.

Why would you want your car to be so low you can't even go over a speed bump? Their style may not make sense to you, but perhaps for their social circle this car is super sick and super original. I personally like how these rich main landers are trying something "new", although I may not agree with some of their styling, this one isn't as bad as the tron ones. I haven't seen the car in person so I cannot judge if the leather look is nice or not but it's definitely new and unique

I think what irritates me the most is if the leather stuff was gone and the wheels were less cheesy looking the car would be OFF THE HOOK!! seriously that blue chrome, while not being my taste, really sets the car off. It IS an exotic car after all. And some nice Fikse, CCW, BBS, whatever wheels, hell, even in the same blue to match with polished lips, would look tight. it's like the car was just detailed and then a bird came and shit on it and fucked up some of the paint and hit the wheels. It's like the car was perfect, and then fcuk :failed: If this is trying to be unique, well........

I hate to talk so negative and be so critical as it's not my car or money but man, I'm getting so tired seeing these amazing machines which are rolling artworks from the factory turned into abortions for the sake of uniqueness. /endrant

Some things you just won't know until you try. And with a wrap, its not permanent, so why not try new things once in a while and see how it goes? I use to hate these wrap jobs as much as the next rs guys, but I like how they are trying to come up with new ideas and designs all the time. Sometimes it looks tacky and stupid, but sometimes they end up looking pretty unique or interesting. And in a couple months they will change to a new design. I use to think the faux leather on the Note 3 looked stupid, but now I love it.

That's the fun thing about living in Vancouver - not only do you get to see supercars every single day, you get to see unique supercars that doesn't just roll off the lot. If you don't agree with their style just have a laugh at them but enjoy the car nonetheless

This Lambo is another example of money not helping a person buy good taste.

That is hideous!

LP700-4 04-10-2014 08:52 PM

I dunno guys IMO a full gold Aventador looks pretty dope

Alby 04-10-2014 09:22 PM

but that one isn't. and i have a feeling it won't be.

Recon604 04-10-2014 09:29 PM

It would only look good during the night, in the bright summer days itll look pretty ugly and washed out. Gold doesnt belong on cars imo.

Gold and Chrome should be only used for accents...

Yodamaster 04-10-2014 10:00 PM

You could gold wrap the aging pizza in your fridge in the name of originality, doing stupid things is stupid, fire is hot.

The one and only "chrome" car that looks good is actually the polished aluminum Shelby GR-1 concept, except that actually had a purpose.

Its a fucking forum you half wit. The point is to discuss things, we are not whining you clown, we are conversing.

Feel free to ban yourself if you don't like it.

I'd argue that anyone who actually polished the car to a shine instead of going the easy route and wrapping it chrome can rock it no problem.

(I don't know where I stand on that chrome paint method thing that people do, like that west coast custom Tron R8, from what I understand though its shit expensive).

Saying something sucks isn't whining. I'm not going to lose any sleep about a car looking like shit. Its a fucking car forum, also known as a discussion forum, for discussing. If you don't want to hear opinions the internet is the wrong place for you.
Edit: Lol meme, I didn't even read you post and we basically said the same thing word for word.

why does it have to make sense, or be functional, or have a purpose?

I'd wager the majority of Aventador owners don't buy their cars for performance but rather as a status symbol...so is adding leather texture really that farfetched? On a track-purposed car like Superleggera then yeah I can understand where you're coming from.

I personally think it's an interesting touch...bold and not gonna be everyone's cup of tea.

boostfever 04-11-2014 12:20 AM

Aventadors, Aventadors, and more Aventadors.
black, blue, red, gold, bold :fuckthatshit:

we need a separate thread for Aventadors. leave this thread to other supercars and 911s.

I never said it has to be functional, I said that I think it looks like dog shit and feel that many other people share that opinion with me. Therefore why would you want to make your car look like dog shit just to have something unique?

I have explained this countless times in both this thread and the HOS:

A car like that attracts attention like crazy regardless of the hideous wrap or not, so how much of an attention whore do you have to be to make it look like that so that everyone looks at you 24/7?

R. Mutt 04-11-2014 09:03 AM

If you have to wrap a car with snake skin in order to feel special chances are you have way too much money and no idea what to do with it. Someone needs to infiltrate the rich people inner circle and subtly influence their taste.

"Yes Henry....meeehhh, could you please pass the grey poupon?"
"Mehhh, but of course Harvey. Oh by the way, I've decided to go with snake skin on the Lambo."
"Really!? But that's soooooo last season Harvey. The sultans are already doing camel skin. But I hear there's some company that makes the engines sound like jet fighters...Underground Racing or something or the other."
"Jet fighter ey? Mehhh I do fancy a little blow and whistle every now and again...let's go that route."

It's too bad we don't see more twin turbo exotics here. They could wrap the car with pink pokadots for all I care if it's packing 1200hp.

dhari 04-11-2014 09:54 AM

TL;DR

Everyone should buy a beige Toyota Corolla because otherwise you are an attention whore.

Okay or you can take what I say completely out of context. My point was that subtleness is a big key to having a tastefully modified vehicle.

If you just want it to be flashy and unique 8 wings, and a massive penis decal on your hood is more unique than anything.

sekin67835 04-11-2014 01:57 PM

Heres a tron aventador that looks good IMO,

not local (in SF). Its wrapped in some type of dark chrome too
