as i have posted in the past, is this guy retarded for paying 85k for a fucking CLA? i dont care that its an AMG. why the fuck wouldnt you just buy a year old E63?

for reference, http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/ctd/4628847768.html

tofu1413 08-21-2014 11:46 AM

im sure he's one of those people that wanted to be the first in town and didnt want to wait.

there are people out there paying way over MSRP for a stingray corevette! (that is a bit more justifiable though..)

This is my ordered CLA with every option available....

The payments would be:

We went through this previously as well, nonetheless when I outfit a vehicle FULLY on the MB website (the only option I can add to make the value of your car more is by selecting matte black for the wheels which adds another $500).

I kitted the car exactly as yours is and I end up with this:

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...pse47f04fd.jpg

I don't know what the "additional $1200 MSRP" charges you have there are... But looking at my vehicle EXCLUDING the $1380 discount you received my fully kitted out car is still less than your price with that discount. How does that work?

I really don't know what to say about your print out except that if you really paid that for the vehicle I really hope you love it A LOT.

Spoiler!

Fuck I'm glad I like old cars. Just thinking of how much car (or 2) 80k would get me makes my head spin. That being said, I don't have 80k to spend on cars ATM, so my thoughts on the matter aren't very important.

I think the cops do it just out of curiosity sometimes... didnt get a ticket since it was stock  not surprised if they pulled a louder more exotic car over...

Those astons with the active exhausts gets pretty loud as well!

I think I was behind you downtown at one point, and I was checking out your Abarth and loving the exhaust sound. Sounds very good, the pop and crackle is awesome!

Does that Abarth have straight pipes from factory?

I'm very confused in terms of exhaust regulations lol

Thing sounds like a rumbling V8

tofu1413 08-21-2014 01:37 PM

factory snap crackle pop systems are awesome :fuckyea:

and yes, there are no mufflers, no resonators from the factory for the abarth. just a 2.5" mild steel pipe of "Italian" fury (and being Italian, the pipe is in fact poorly welded too :troll: ) :fuckyea:

Not sure. I remember his blacked out CL65 though.

He got rid of his CL65 last year, it sat at Miles End for a couple of months before it got sold. I know he got a brand new S6 and a new Flying Spur, thought he might have got rid of them to get something new.

tofu1413 08-21-2014 02:58 PM

Pretty nice 12C with really loud exhaust, cops were definitely preying on him IMO and the left turn gave them the excuse to pull him over. Didn't really feel like what he did was dangerous or if it was even illegal as his car was already past the stop line and it's a one way with decent visibility.
I guess it kinda comes with the territory of driving a flashy/loud car, can't help but to think he might not have been pulled over in something more mundane. From what I saw cops didn't see him rip it onto Howe.

No sympathy for the driver. The ticket he got is just a drop in the bucket to his networth. Most of the people driving lambo, ferrarris, mclarens in the downtown core are doing it to show off. I know its hypocritical of me to say I wouldn't do the same if I had my dream cars RWB, CGT, GT2RS. I would cruise Robson on the regular on a nice sunny Sunday but I know I would be extra careful paranoid if theirs cops around.

When you have the reputation of Richmond trust fund kids with N's theirs a big fat bullseye on your back. Worse is if the cop see's your asian and profiling does exist like it does in the States with Blacks.

FUCK IT, I JUST BUY A 993 TURBO S AND STAY LOW KEY IN SLEEPER MODE :accepted: 99% COPS AND PEOPLE THINK ITS JUST AN OLD PORSCHE AND LEAVE YOU ALONE!!

Godamn I want one of these so badly but I'm only finding pre-87 models. You can do a swap but those 'hot air' Buicks are very rare (just not as desirable as the I/C cars).

Good thing I have the next best Buick in my garage! :fuckyea:

Spoiler!

Hmmm, what if Timpo and Shark Tank had a circuit race of their dream rides? Who wins?

Timpo: GT-R.

Shark Tank: 993 Turbo S or a Ferrari/Lambo.

:suspicious:

SkunkWorks 08-22-2014 11:20 AM

I bet you neither Timpo or Shark Tank even have their licenses yet...

Your pictures from the event are awesome.

Didn't get the chance to go this year (I was there last year), but it looks like it was even bigger this time around.
