Was this in Richmond?

inv4zn 11-10-2014 11:16 PM

The firetruck very clearly says RICHMOND FIRE RESCUE..

yamanote 11-10-2014 11:28 PM

Yes it was in Richmond... saw it driving down Oak earlier today in one piece lol

The "owner's" (instagram kid's) sister was driving. The RR she crashed into was her friend's car

How did I miss that lol?
I had a feeling it was in Richmond without looking at the fire truck.
And I had another feeling that the 2 drivers knew each other.

i wonder how much the repairs are going to cost on the lambo

pastarocket 11-11-2014 01:02 PM

inb4 the baller asks his parents to buy him a new Aventador AND pay the friend to repair the RR.

That's not really the right use of inb4...

How does ICBC deal with exotic insurance claims? Is it the same as "ordinary" cars, just the insurance premiums are much higher?

-buddy of mine who works at ICBC says that the driver contacts the special coverage underwriter because the driver must buy "own-damage coverage". This coverage is separate from Auto Plan. There are higher insurance premiums for sure given the higher risk of a driver crashing his/her Lambo, Ferrari, Pagani, etc.

Own damage coverage is a combo of collision and comprehensive insurance.

Specialized coverage

Harvey Specter 11-11-2014 02:02 PM

I have the specialized coverage for my Bentley, the yearly rate isn't that bad but the deductible is nuts. I believe mine is around $5,000 per claim and I don't have a secondary driver added because the extra coverage is really expensive if you want to add a secondary driver to your plan.

G-Diesel 11-11-2014 03:58 PM

Pretty sad to see, that Aventador use to be from Edmonton.

boostfever 11-11-2014 08:07 PM

i feel like we've become quite desensitized when it comes to these super cars now :l

just a couple nights ago 2 aventadors and 2 458's drove by me and i was more or less meh about it and didnt really give it a second thought *i did quite enjoy the noise though however*

westopher 11-11-2014 10:01 PM

Rarity is definitely part of the appeal of a car. Although a 458 is much more impressive than a 355 the 355 will get my attention anytime. Having a nice new car only takes money. Having a nice modified car or classic requires taste and knowledge of cars as well. Not to say that there aren't car enthusiasts going to a dealership and getting amazing new cars, it's just less likely it's about that when it comes to those types of cars in this city.

yups, i remember seeing a really mint first gen saab 900 turbo a while back and i was trying to catch up to it just to get a better look at it lol.

plus i think theres also a large part of just appreciation to the owner for buying such a car when it comes to "nice" new cars. i.e. with a 458, you dont really sense that the owner bought it cus its a hell of a car to drive but rather as a status symbol, whereas a e63 amg wagon on the other hand, i believe that the owner really did appreciate the niche-ness of a batshit crazy estate car.

LOL what, the baller lifestyle. but isnt the huayra not street legal in NA? or at least in canada?

pastarocket 11-11-2014 10:46 PM

Are we gonna see these ultra rare supercars in the Lower Mainland?

La Ferrari
Koenigsegg Agera R
W Motors Lykan Hypersport
Lamborghini Veneno
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
Hennessy Venom GT

The Reventon, Porsche 918, McLaren P1, and the Pagani Huayra were spotted in Vancouver.
