car is awesome! but the only problem is that 964 RS ($200K+) have gone up in value so much that it is hard to justify driving them. Car collectors are going to snap them up and never drive them :(

this one is both driven and tracked.

westopher 11-20-2014 11:04 AM

As it should, although, I can assure you I'd pony up for the track day insurance on that one.

I didn't notice those things. What really gave it away was that it had aftermarket stickers on the car, = instant racecar.

It's a RS america.... significantly less than 200k

Only worth from 40k - 100k

white rocket 11-20-2014 03:33 PM

Bob's car is fuggin sweet. I know him quite well. Excellent driver and all around great guy. We've been doing business together for over 10 years. He was considering a slightly tamer P-car the last time we spoke. If the RS wasn't red I'd be all over it for a track beast.

TouringTeg 11-20-2014 05:00 PM

Awesome car. Must be RS America. Most 964 RS are in collections now and won't see the track again.

Here is an RS America that just sold this week for around 75k USD (80k CDN).

103,000 MILES, over half of that is from the track. Engine hasn't been apart.
Does 1.52 lap times at the Ridge and ORP.
Full 993 RSR brakes, including master cylinder and custom cup exhaust courtesy of BlitzKreig.

tofu1413 11-20-2014 05:05 PM

i remember there was a 964 RS america for sale on craigslist a few years back with a salvage title... with only 19k miles!

then even with a salvage theft title... it truly was worth the 20k.

Good that you can read his brochure :)

I know Bob from PCA and BBC for many many years now.

saucywoman 11-20-2014 09:53 PM

Actually I had happened to be browsing and he walked by and saw his car, so I showed him the thread and posted what he told me :p

More so the fact that he never mentioned mileage or questioned what the car was capable of or what parts have been added to it. He was merely talking about the price in DOLLARS. In which you misinterpreted it as him questioning how many MILES that particular car has driven.

SR posted a picture of the P1 owners new bug which I guess is still in production...it's going to be one epic spotting season come next summer.

Pic I got earlier this summer, Carrera RS I imported for someone, 40,000kms and it was over 200K.

Car has yet to be driven more than the 20km I put on it, knowing the owner, it probably may never see more than 100km in the next 2-3 years. I mean its not mine, but wished he drove them more..

tofu1413 11-21-2014 12:28 AM

ahhh that blue one. Eurosport brought the car in. its one hella minty machine

rriggi 11-21-2014 12:32 AM

Nope not Eurosport, this was a private import I had done. They did the other RS car at roughly the same time I did this one.

Well the owner has quite a hefty collection, loves all his cars and he got it pretty late in the season, I am sure next year he will drive it more next year!

^ there are 2 real blue euro 964 RS is the city now. My friend with the other RS had his car appraised for $260K!!!!!!! The ship has sailed now to get any 993, 964 RS, 964 Turbo for a decent price.......I think 84-89 Carreras are the next porsche to spike in value.

If you are a driver and not a collector, I think 996 Turbos or C4s are the best bang for your buck!

He's the one who told me the miles on it and that half of those miles were from the track. Everything I posted was correct, I posted that portion on behalf of him :p like I'd remember all that :p lol

We will see what happens when the stock market takes a shit again. There is going to be a flood of "collector" cars that end up on the market and end up as drivers cars. The collector cars are an investment and subject to the same rules as any other investment, so they aren't necessarily out of reach forever. Just at the moment.
