Hondaracer 12-06-2014 11:19 AM

So these are in fact out now?
Some white sales guy at Park Shore BMW told me there were only demo i8s out at the moment about a month and a half ago. But I saw pics thanks to deadbea7

Ever since I saw Tiff Needell spank one of those around a track absolutely sliding the shit out of it I've wanted to drive one of these. I couldn't fathom a car of that size and weight being able to do what it could. Even though their power to weight ratio is a little on the low side given its age now I bet they are still quite a lot of fun to drive around the twisties. And after all this time they still look great...I don't think the styling of newer M5 models will stand the test of time like this one.

^ some BMW designs are timeless...

Take this for instance

or this

so damn beautiful

Z3guy 12-09-2014 06:17 AM

^ fuk me, that 3.5 csi is sex on wheels....those alpina wheels are timeless on any bimmer. No b pillar makes such a big difference!

I haven't had first-hand experience driving one, but with a steering box vs rack & pinion steering it's probably better suited to high speed sweepers than complex twisties.

2002 are neat little cars.

could clearly see how the car evolves into an E30 down the road
