The want is strong. I heard that red R8 pull away and it sounded fantastic.

A friend of mine has been talking about getting an R8 forever. Now I realize the R8 is a bargain and of course I would get a gated 6 spd!

My favourite is still the first gen r8 (when the only option was a v8). Traditional Audi silver with carbon blade, perfection. Still a performance car but with more subtle class

:okay: So true. I could of had an R8 or a nice down payment on a 997 GT3. Instead I went with the happy wife approach and got the ITR for cheap thrills and am slowly restoring it. My wife got a 13 CRV and the balance is going into a couple bathroom renos etc.

Would love to add an R8, GT3, M2, M3 (or other euro) one day.

The answer is simple for people who never liked them to begin with.

I still love some of them. I'm certainly getting sick of seeing nice 911s get cut up however.

to me they look like shit.. it detracts hard from the factory look and it's basically "rice" imo..

the 993's are a thing of art, a timeless look, to hack a nice example up to slap on fender is... yea..

Spotted the white 720S while out shooting the Orange 675LT and pulled over behind it to take a pic :fullofwin:. It was just one of the many nice cars I saw this weekend out during the sunshine. :cool:

Did Mclaren fire their entire design team and start new? The prior designs like the 650, 675 and mp4-12c were so much sleeker and proportioned well than the new models.

I think they've just taken a very function first form second approach.

good eye Westopher, they actually kind of did, Mclaren brought in Frank Stephenson as head designer in approx. 2014. His resume includes F430, X5, Mini Cooper, Fiat 500, etc. He did not design the MP4 12C. He described the MP4 12C an Olympic Track wearing a garbage bag! haha! he designed the P1 and 650s. The 720 was his first design from start to finish.

the common factor in all those designs are all bug eye head lights lol

i find the new mclarens rear ends look way nicer than previous gens taking design tips from the P1, the front ends look very chunky and out of place though
