and facebook msgs too |
ok say if you have a text msg plan for 100 text and when this charge comes into effect if one receives an incoming text would this reduce the 100 text included in the plan? simplying putting it is outgiong text = incoming that'd be stupid. |
already made a thread =P but yeah this is retarded |
fido ftw 2500 texts a month ftw |
rogers is shit:mad: |
FYI, SMSing (both in/outgoing) is completely free in the UK with 2 carriers |
Hooray for my blackberry data value pack  |
rogers wireless lost like 30 million recently, they've already jacked up the blackberry prices to compensate. charging for sms was inevitable |
Just catching up with what Bell and Telus have already implemented... it was just a matter of time. Plus if you have an SMS package, you're all good...it's just the pay per use people. |
phew this doesnt apply to fido. |
Rogers need to get rid of the SAF! |
if Globalive is smart and dares to be different from the big 3 they can really clean up here in Canada |
my 10000 txt messages included in my iphone essentials plan is more then enough muahahaha. To all the fido users, its only a matter of time before this happens to you :) |
^ hard times made for the change :) |

moreso the fact that they reassured their customers they wouldn't sink to the level of bell and telus, and now they have if you can't walk the walk, don't talk the talk |
this calls for my owned one line: BOOM BOOM POW! someone should call out rogers for this, and see their response... |

Rogers are turds. Way to be followers Rogers! |
hypocrites |
Royally pissed off about this. |
It's now a trade off between an extra $5 to $10 a month for a negotiated texting plan or pay-per-spam-text hahahaha :D Have fun, kids. :D |
fuck please understand that Big red as a whole has been losing 30mil last year even with the success of hte iphone/blackberry launch. The wireless side is Rogers biggest asset at an estimated 4mil dollars worth of assets and such. The other two big divisions dont even come close. The blackberry pricing was raised to cover some of the loss. It clearly states, that for the moment, people on txt plans are excused from this, but ALOT of the customers have a wireless essentials package with includes Call Display, Voicemail and SMS. This does not affect those with txt packages and plans. Its mainly the pay per use people. I would go to rogers and just pay the money. The system access fee is to power the network, its not what all this bullshit money grabbing thing is, Bell charges somethin like 8dollars if im correct. Fido is not included in this because their rebranding last november is to restructure the company to target the lowerend market. Koodo is the discount brand for telus and Fido is now truely the discount brand for Rogers. nothing is set in stone down the line for Fido either. Im sure most of you are already covered fine so quit complaining. SMS has become a service that has become a need. Im pretty sure that everyone saying this will continue to use the service even if the incoming charge is implemented whether or not you have a plan or not just like Bell. Move to fido now and dont have a txt plan and do not plan to get one? you most likely lose your 6gb data plan. |
"Two Quebec residents launched class-action lawsuits against the companies for changing the terms of their wireless contracts." I like this idea!!! Launching a lawsuit since 15 cent for incoming texts is not in the contract. What is contract for... if it is not going to be followed? But the contract should specifically mention about "free incoming texts" and there is no words such as "is subject to change" |

"WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY AN INCOMING TEXT WHEN I ACTUALLY DO NOT USE OR WANT IT???" For example: A victim does not have $5/month(the lowest text plan you can get from Rogers) to pay the plan. One day, the victim's enemy did a revenge by sending 5000 text messages. 5000 incoming text messages x 15 cents = $750 So is it still the victim's responsibility to pay the $750? And how can the victim prove that the 5000 incoming text messages are all scam if he cannot show it? What about if his celphone can only hold 300 texts? What about the other >4000 text messages that have been deleted? Do you know what I mean? Even though there are like 80 to 90% customer who uses data plan, what about the other 10%:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: |
