Already got my 7:30PM friday ticket (digital presentation) for Scotiabank Theatre. Should have enough time to go grab a Japadog then line up. Going to be wearing my Enterprise "Sweet Ride" t-shirt. I figure my grade 3 TNG uniform with phaser and tricorder is a bit overboard. Perhaps I'll carry my Andorian teddy bear.
Caught the 7:45 show today..... and as a huge Trek fan, it was fucking great! This is one movie I won't be pirating. Too bad it was a thursday with a Canucks game, the theater wasn't even 1/4 full. Pick of seats

lol as great as Star Trek is you can't miss the Canucks. I'm hoping the theatre is crowded on friday with a good atmosphere, always makes the movie more enjoyable. Commander Shran is hunting those who refuse to watch Star Trek!

WANT. O_______O
Watched it last night right after we lost. =_=
AWESOME MOVIE....saw Trekkies in costume too hehehehehe:
The only downside is that you have to be a pretty big Trekkie (i.e. like yours truly) to be able to get and fully appreciate the movie. Some parts of it I didn't like (i.e. the transporter effect, some of the plot), but overall it was EPIC.
HOWEVER, there's too much fucking cheese in this movie. All those bullshit old references ("I'm a doctor, not a physicist!", etc) were put in there simply to appease the Trekkie nerds. All that stuff seemed so awkward and out of place in a modernized action movie. I could've done without all that garbage.
I also didn't need to be told outright that this is an "alternate reality". I'm not retarded...thanks though, J.J. Abrams.
Is Star Trek playing in IMAX anywhere in Vancouver? It seems like it would be epic, but the only theatres in Canada I have found so far that are showing the IMAX version are in Ontario/Quebec.
Saw the movie tonight at Scotiabank theatre and it was awesome, totally fullfilled all my expectations. Would have liked to see more fans in costume though.
