Anyone here Weightlift?

I know most of you guys are into body building or lift weights for aesthetic reasons but curious if anyone here does any weightlifting?

I just started and have had the luck to work with a great coach In Cloverdale (its a long ass drive for me but worth it - never knew where cloverdale was before lol).

My current Clean and Jerk has jumped to 165lbs from 135 in a month. My overhead snatch is at 125lbs. Hoping to hit 185 and 135 by the end of the month.

Be nice to train with some other ppl that are into O- Lifts.

Think of the power clean, front squat, and push press all together.

He's talking about olympic lifting. My dad use to be big into it. He medaled in at the Canada games and judged the Canadian championships. SAS if you think you got to travel far my dad use to go from Nanaimo to Vancouver once a week to train with his couch and his buddy use to come from Port Alberni.

Jasvir Singh second person from B.C. to ever go to the olympics for weightlifting. Came 12th because he had a injured shoulder and only stoped roofing 6 months before the Olympics.

Yup.

Man, I love that feeling of fighting the bar and getting it up there. The split second where everything feels weightless is awesome.

Do you train at all? Its hard finding ppl that love this sport.

Indeed funny wording.

When I say, Weightlift- I mean O lifting but I know most ppl think of weightlifting as "lifting weights" bench press and those mean bicep curls!

June 27th, Annual Sea Festival Meet if anyones interested.
