But yes, of course the american cars have more torque. I thought this was common knowledge?.. | i can only think of a few imports that have nice torque figures
lexus IS-F
Toyota Tundra ( yes is a truck, but still a torque monster )
Nissan Titan
Lexus GS430
What else am i missing?
A genesis with 266 ft lbs is pretty ho hum considering a toyota sienna / honda odessey minivan makes 245 ft lbs
My subjective definition of a nice torque figure is 300 ft lbs+

update on the brake issue! (O_O)! http://www.autosnewspaper.com/2009/0...w-does-it-too/
but can they at least sand the fuckers down or put a ss sticker on the side of those weights like they do with all the other shit so it looks a bit better?? cause some of us actually have standards?? like holy shit we're not talking about a pontiac pursuit with that roflcopter quad exhaust in which only one set is actually hooked up, this is supposed to be a nice muscle car
its like their first time making a car (-__-)...
"i dunno, lets just slap some fucking weights on it and call it a day, hur hur hur"
this is a danger for bumblebee in the next movie... those weights may get him stuck when he's transforming, if he doesnt short out first

Lol, the BMW performance brakes look like a work of art compared to the Brembos on the SS. Hopefully the Brembos on the SS aren't similar to the ones on the Chrysler SRT's because GM is going to have some expensive recalls on their hands.

So the article is saying a bunch of weights double sided taped to a caliper is equivalent to a set of weight that are properly held down by some bolts with a hex head?
The writer is serious business.

When I get into the Mustang, I always love the feel of true kick you in the ass torque that comes on the INSTANT that you hit the pedal.
Not to mention the farty blat sound of the Mazda can never match the auditory sex of a V8 with flowies.

seriosuly though. who would buy the new camaro other than proud americans afriad of buying a hyundai. It's proved to be a better car in 100% of the tests and comparisons, even resale value, and it's hyundai.
there's no reason to buy a new camaro, meaning there's no reason to feel bad for owners who fucked up and didn't go with Korea | LOL totally biased opinion.

I think you should compare apple to apple, if you look at domestic cars and import cars within the same class, i think the majority import cars have a slightly higher torque than domestics.
Take Accord vs Malibu
Corolla vs Cobalt
G37 vs CTS
Sienna vs Sonata
i think its an slaughter.
Not only domestics are poorly built, most are even underpowered.

Accord = 254 @ 5000
Malibu = 251 @ 3000
Corolla (Non-XRS) = 128 @ 4400
Cobalt (Non-SS) = 150 @ 4900
G37 = 269 @ 5200
CTS (Non-CTS-V)= 273 @ 5200
....Yes, domestics are absolutely slaughtered...

....Yes, domestics are absolutely slaughtered... | so...........with those specs,
you would prefer a Cobalt over a Corolla, and a Malibu over an Accord, and a CTS over G37?
the answer for most is no.
With superior torque figures, most people still prefer imports over domestics.
Yes, domestics are slaughered.

Your point was based on torque figures and nothing more. I'd personally prefer the Malibu and CTS over the import options. But again that had nothing to do with your original point.

LMAO at the weights being stuck to the calipers.. That car is obviously for enthusiasts, and GM went and screwed them with that fix, it looks so cheap. |
