Chevron 94 = Petrocan 94. Perhaps the station you had filled up had a leaky tank or you managed to get the dregs.

How did you test the octane in the gas???

Busted.

Put 91 octane in either of my cars, one which was tuned on 94 to 19psi with gobs of timing, the other, a high compression V8, and you'll be buying new motors soon.

94 has it's place. Your obtuse generalization reelks of ignorance and a lack of experience. Do us a favor and read more, post less.
owned! well said. i need 94 as well...

Husky gas contains 10% Ethanol that's what makes their gas different. Some call it E10 gas. To help reduce carbon monoxide emissions. California pass the law and all the gas stations required to sell E10 only.

Husky's lowest octane is 90 selling at the same price as other gas stations 87 octane. They have 90 and 94 and that's it.

Some claims E10 burns a little faster hence lower mpg from E10 gas. But it's compensated with higher octane #....

Just sharing what I know...

E10 does burn faster because of the ethanol content. Ethanol itself is what gives Husky's gas a higher octane rating, but it's offset by the MPG rating.

yes, but it's merely 10%. At the end, whole tank of gas with 10% ethanol that burns faster should be hard to notice.

I got this calculation from a fellow in RX8 forum.

Quote:
Ethanol has about 70% the energy content of gas maybe a little less. So at a 10% concentration you will get about 97% the energy content of pure gas. This means about 3% less fuel mileage.

If you normally got 200 miles per tank fuel with pure gas you would drop to about 196 miles with 10% ethanol.

Oh, btw, Husky and Mohawk is giving out $2.00 off 25 liters of gas. So, it's like $2 off $28 or so (8 cents off each liter).
Coupon is re-usable. So if you are closed to Husky, it might save you a little. But i you don't like them, just ignore it.

Don't get confused with the picture of the Husky MasterCard. You don't need to apply for anything.
