In most cases, like this Z4, it looks tacky and overdone.
Take this car; I doubt the designer added all of these parts with a primary aim of improving performance or aerodynamics. That was likely only a wishful secondary outcome....if it isn't, in fact, worse than stock. And it looks like that might be the case.

Please be as specific as possible in your answer. You are encouraged to use terms such as, but not limited to: Co-efficient of drag, lift, downforce (unlikely, I know), and visually appealing.
