Plug-in car charging stations (Asia News)

http://www.thestandard.com.hk/news_d...415&con_type=1

Canada sucks, we are very behind

Quote:
Electric car charging stations are set to open across Kowloon, the New Territories and Lantau Island by the end of the year.

The pioneering joint venture between electricity provider CLP Power, Wilson Parking and Link Management will open 10 stations in housing estate and mall car parks for a trial period of five years.

The stations will allow users to charge cars that can make journeys 70 percent cheaper than the petrol equivalent.

Electric cars are not available in Hong Kong but they are being tested by the government. It will be at least a year before drivers can buy one.

we invented fuel cell too if you haven't noticed.

but that's not the point, our "application of technology" is very behind...Like even tho we were the proud country that invented the fuel cell they are only used in some bus lines in N.Van? Or something?

We should be able to massively adopt new technologies like Japan can. But our conservative thinking lead us to walk the same circular path.

yeah, that's true. Canada is inventing some of the stuff out there, but it's usually other country that adopts it.

LOL HK taxis use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) not diesel.

Only a few ROOGP are left on RS as most of the ROOGP got fed up of the BS that the new breed of Post Whores are putting up in here.

I driven electric bikes...they are smooth and powerful but very unreliable...dunno about safety either.

Problem with electric is the source isn't greenhouse freindly either...and who knows if the infastructure would be worth spending on...what happens if we discover a new power source.

We're sending spacecrafts to mars....have no clue why we still using 1950's technology.

at least the asians would consider trying the new technologies. It's only $1.5 for 80km,
not bad at all.
