I personally like R8 better

They're not on the list but would you consider a: GT3, GT3RS, 360 Modena Challenge Stradale, 575M?
From your list I'd go with the Lambo.

Let's clear the air a little bit.
And I don't mean to be least condescending or a showoff in any way possible. Take this with a grain of salt.
I'm 19 going on 20. I write and sell music. I'm also a graduated, certified engineer. To whoever told me to do my homework, I have. I know the ups and downs of each. Yes, I fell in love with the R8 after riding around in my agent's. But that doesn't mean I didn't didn't look into it. I'm just in a place on deciding on which car to get, experience wise, without money being an object. I'm not going to go for the most expensive one just because it it's the most expensive. None of these 3 cars are short on the eye-catching department, so I'm shopping for experience, not status.
I started this thread simply to see if anyone owns or has driven these, so I can read up on some experiences on these exotics. I'm not doing a sort of "let's vote on what car I should buy!"
Back on topic - Like someone said earlier, I do plan to keep my civic. Hence "weekend car." I'm most likely going to let go of my Z before anything. Having said that, I already have a daily car to get to and from work, grocery shopping, etc. So at this point, I'm still leaning closest to the Elise. Maintenance for all of them are pretty up there, but I'd consider myself pretty handy

As I do not know your preference in vehicle, I can only say what I think I would like out of the three cars you listed.
I would not get R8 4.2 but wait for the 2010 R8 with the new engine. Even when you get the new engine in the R8, the gallardo is just a better car overall. Therefore the R8 goes.
Elise or Gallardo?
For myself, I would pick the Gallardo. It's an exotic 4wd with tons of torque and top speed. Something I do not have in my garage nor something the elise have. Almost everything out weighs the reason for getting the elise for one exception. The elise will be perfect if you do alot of auto x style driving.

If performance wasn't that big a deal the Maserati Granturismo is a pretty nice car. Classic coupe styling and a nice exhuast note.
Personally I find the elise to be too flimsy and it would be an obvious upgrade to choose any of those cars
Aston Martin Vantages are nice enough to drive everyday, and the new ones are no slouch on the track either, (as quick if not quicker than E90 M3s), look great, reasonably practical, sounds amazing and best interior of the bunch.

Get the Gallardo because Akon has one. You can smack that all on the floor.

Personally, I'd rather get two $70,000(or w/e, u get my point) cars than have a civic as my DD and a Gallardo or something as my weekend driver....or even like a $40,000 car and a $100,000 car...no?

^^^^ I've considered the Vantage as well, but for now I'm pretty set on one of these 3. Maybe in the future.
And to whoever asked about my age/financial situation, no I don't come from a rich family. Actually quite the opposite. I just did the right things at the right age, at the right time, I guess. Never wasted a day in my life doing nothing.

wow 19y/o with a P.Eng? you must've blazed through school lol
As ELITE_TRAYUNZE said earlier, i think it would be better to get a more comfortable DD before getting a more expensive weekend car.

I've been keeping track of the Gallardos for sale locally and the silver 2004 one at Bluestar has dropped the price from $150K to $130K a few days ago. Now it looks a little more attractive to me http://www.bluestarmotors.com/index....oom&carid=1546

Haha, I crammed 4 years of school into 2. Dreadful, but it paid off.
And I'm not too worried about a more comfortable DD. I mean, a sedan's a sedan, no matter how you put it. Sure, there's the BMW this, the Infiniti that; but unless people are "in the know", it'll just look like another one of the thousands of cars they see everyday.
Let's be honest, if you're going to get an exotic, you're gonna want everyone to notice. And those 3 cars I'm debating between couldn't blend in if they tried. Yeah, a 5 Series would nice, or an Evo or STi. But unless people know their stuff, the 5 series will just look like an everyday BMW, and the other two will just look like a couple of rice rockets.
Everyone will turn their heads to an exotic. Girls, guys, parents, babies, grandparents, dogs.

Elise / Gallardo / R8 are all different cars significantly... Personally I'd go with the Lamborghini, well because it's Lamborghini and it's top of the line stuff.
Get the Galllardo if you can afford it.

I'm going to do the Lease&Trade with Weissach. From an Elise to a Gallardo. I just can't keep away from the Lotus. They're magical.
