Hotel room guests bookings

just wondering because i can potentially save a lot of money..

say i have 4 people for the trip and booked a hotel room for 2 people, what will happen when i check in and 4 people shows up? will they not care or refuse to let me in?

the reason being is that i have seen my friends book a hotel room for 2 people, and show up with like 4 or 5...

or sometimes, book a condo/townhouse for 6 people, and have 9 people show up.

extra guest charges are about $20 a night, times that by 2 more people and 3 nights, that's $120!

i have never done that before.. what's your experience?

provided that you don't make too much noise or bring everyone in at once, i dont see them noticing that you have more guests...but if your buds are gonna be crashing at your hotel, why don't you get them to split the bill with you?

Also depends where your going. I've travelled a fair share and given you do what Supafly said it shouldn't be a problem. However, one time I stayed at MGM in vegas they had people checking your room card at night at the elevators.

i mean, in las vegas it will be easy to smuggle people in because the hotel is huge.

what if it's a smaller place like best western in like portland where the check in staff can see everyone.

don't feel like forking out $100 extra to expedia if the hotel ppl doesn't care..

i think most smaller hotels dont care about it. except in japan, they're pretty anal about it

Wow that's crazy. Although I don't see how they would stop two people walking into the elevator with only one room card, as I'm sure many couples don't carry one each. I stayed at the Flamingo in vegas with four people and only paid for a room for two, didn't run into any problems.
