No I am not from MTL.
Also, van seems to like Hard Trance a lot. (ie. Yoji.) That might be why I think lineups are a bit weak. Have you guys ever had Marcel Woods here?

marcel woods have been here a few times. his most recent was probably IMF or fusion dreams from 2008.
its hard to compare toronto/montreal's market to vancouver's. over in the east, there are better bigger venues, there's way more people and more people willing to leave the comfort of their homes to support these shows. so its a lot easier for promoters to invest more money in bringing bigger talent.
having said that, i think our rave pricing structures are a joke. no other world class city with good nightlife uses this ridiculous method. trance energy in holland is one set price of 40-45 euros per from ticket number 1 to ticket number 30000.

the rules and regulations / obtaining permit the city implements are ridiculous compared to the east coast, the city is trying to shut down raves with any excuse they can
you might think the PNE raves cash out big but aside from dooms many don't, I won't give #s but its insane how much it costs and the measures you have to take to put on a PNE rave, fusion just went short of breaking even... mostly cuz PVD and setup was really expensive and they expected it to sell better
renting out the PNE $_$ !! setup, djs, paying for security and staff (unionized) to work AM hours and double pay on holidays (ie NYE)
there really aren't many alternative venues you could use to do massives, GM place doesn't allow all nighters and it would be hard to pack it (plus dont think city would be down with that)
theres so many factors that go into it you can't compare and just point fingers and say its this or that
anyway i got cheap tix if anyone needs 604 537 1316
