Im trying find parking bylaws for the city of richmond with no luck.
Reason why im looking for it is that theres this car parked in front of my house for over a week now and has not moved. Im wondering if theres a bylaw regarding how long a vehicle can be parked on the street...
I'm in Vancouver so the procedures might be a bit different. I called VPD's non-emergency line for abandoned vehicles a couple times and provided them with the location and details (make, model, color, etc.) of a car and eventually they towed it. It only had temporary insurance which expired May 1.
in burnaby, if a business owner complains, you can't park in front of their property for more than 3 hours during business hours, even if there's no street sign stating the fact. in place of street signs, they notify you by placing photocopy's of a letter signed by their city's engineer stating the law. after a few "warnings" they give you a $25 ticket
Call the Richmond RCMP non-emergency number (604-278-1212) during the day (ie. 8am - 4pm which is when bylaw officers are guaranteed to be on) and report the incident.
They will chalk the tires of the vehicle and if it stays for a certain period of time the vehicle will be towed.
