But it's difficult to get Hep C...like it's difficult to get Aids.

Hm.. do you know if we're allowed to bring hand sanitizer through the airport since it does contain a bit of alcohol..
anyways.. thanks for the idea. I'll buy myself many small cartages of hand sanitizer

^ It's best if you go see your family doctor for a clear report but I believe in High school you indeed did get shots but I think those shots last for 10 years max.
Oh and yes, bring your own hand sanitizers, but with the recent "Virus". Most places have a readily available(Free) Hand sanitizer right beside doors and elevators. Plus most large malls/hotels shopping centers clean the handles a billion times a day...lol I think Hong kong is the most paranoid out of everyone.

^ If you're talking about me, No. The hotel's fine. It's actually pretty good since it's right beside the Mall along with the Fa Yuen/Tong choi Streets and has free shuttle to TST. |

Swine flu is just like the regular flu, the media blew it out of proportions again.

Was just there for 2 weeks. May 22-June 7th.
Nothing to worry about.
They are very cautious with everyone entering HK/China.
They will do a heat scan when you enter the HK Airport.
I dont do well with heat, so I was sweating when I got off the plane. (Dang HK is hot right now) anyways, they did a ear check to see if I was sick.
At the hotel in HK they did temperature checks when you checkin and compare when you check out.
I trained into Guangzhou a few days later and they also did temperature checks at the border and on the train and when you got off the train.
Other than them be very cautious, you have nothing to worry about.

i'm currently in hk right now and its fine. Just more people being cautious wearing masks but other than that everything is fine. Through customs you have to fill out a health confirmation form and people make sure you are fine and stuff. super hott here!!!

Not everybody wearing the mask is paranoid about swine flu. Some of the people wear it because they were already sick, or they're trying to avoid the dust outside. Plenty of people were wearing it when I was there for Christmas.

Hey, my friend just told me that when my plane reaches China, I will be locked up for 10 days for the flu inspection.
IS this true??
My vacation is only 19days long and having 10days locked up would really suck.

My vacation is only 19days long and having 10days locked up would really suck. | I think you would only be quarantined if you exhibit symptoms of H1N1. I doubt they quarantine every single person that comes through.
Just hope that nobody in your plane has the symptoms...

My vacation is only 19days long and having 10days locked up would really suck. | I'm pretty sure they just do a quick temperature check and let you go, or at least that's what they did when I went to China last month.
If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts are you going in China?

If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts are you going in China? | Starting from Vancouver, I'll fly to Japan to transfer into another plane that goes straight to Guang Zhou. At Guang Zhou, I'll be picked up by relatives and get driven to their homes to rest a bit or get locked up for 10 days. Afterwards, I'll be moving around a bit.
