I think Diggy got the same deal, RCubed.

I talked to them today and they say that tethering should work for 1GB data plans and above, and that I have to call tech support so that they reset something on their end. We'll see. I need my tethering lol

How'd you get it for $25? Maybe I should get it.

kayceeee 06-24-2009 02:03 PM

Get a 5 dollar credit lol

It is not. I have the 6GB plan and it's no longer allowed. That's what I've been shown from Rogers. Only allowed for iPhones. Unless you know something that I don't...

Tethering is the use of your phone as a wireless modem to connect to the Internet from your computer. For a limited time, if you subscribe to a data plan which includes at least 1GB of data transmission effective June 19, 2009 until December 31, 2009, and if you have a compatible device, you may use tethering as part of the volume of data included in your plan at no additional charge. Tethering cannot be used with data plans of less than 1GB. To do this, you must have the Tethering Add-on on your account. If you have a data plan that is minimum 1 GB then you should have the Tethering Add-on automatically. If you do not, you will need to call into Customer Care (1-888-ROGERS-1) and make the request.
Not sure what qualifies for a "compatible device" but I think that the blackberry does.

Yup, you can use a Blackberry.

Testing tethering right now before I call into Rogers.....

...and it works perfectly now. What the goat? Oh well. :)

Does the below mean that tethering will only be allowed during this time? Or does it mean that if you sign up for data during this period you'll get tethering?

it means u can tether now at no extra cost if u have a compatible data plan but next year u might need to have an option at an extra cost if u still want tethering
